Hello all,

Im looking at geting a cheap low insurance group old car. Has to be below £500 as i want keep my bike too.

Can have rust, dents and watever else cosmeticly wrong with it, as long as its a good little runner and get me to and from work.

Am looking for Scotland area but if the price is good i will travel. Wink

Just grab something off ebay or even better your local auction. There are loads of bargains to be had on smaller engined stuff with little or no rust or dents. Eg, at auction you'd easily pick up a very tidy N/P/R reg 1.4 Astra like in the pic for under £500. At that price don't accept anything without at least 6 months mot.

Yeah i had thought about an auction.

The only disadvantage about them is you cannot take the car your looking at for a spin, you can turn it over but whos to say a car can run good by just letting the engine run.

I have seen a couple on Adtrader around my area, so may go and check them out at the weekend.

Other than those suggested has anybody go any other places worth looking?

my sister has a punto 1.3 5dr, shes 18 and insurance is only £500 TPFT!

Im sure you can get a punto around £500!

Nice one. Thanks for the info.

Insurance sounds pretty reasonable. Only wanted to insure it as 'Third Party' to save the pennys as i only wanta car for commuting.

I want to enjoy riding a bike and commuting on my only bikes not my way of enjoying it. Razz

hi, corsa 1.5 td, 1993 5 door, £450? 50-60mpg and a stupidly low insurance group, (costs me 1200 a year at 18 just passed my test ect.) im in doncaster, pm me if ur interested.

Hi, Austin Allegro 1100 deluxe fitted with 1300cc MG engine with 30000 on the clocks.

yellow/brown (rust) has air conditioning (holes in wheel arches)
vinyl roof for the classic look has a small tear (1cm ish)

registration plate is a reverse 'T'
