Have you tried the Nurburgring?
Went last year with 3 other bikes. totally awsome, and scared the crap out of me. Shocked Timed myself at 15mins. Only went round twice, cos I was gettin too confident. Had to keep an eye on my mirrors cos the fast cars come up quick, gotta keep over to the right hand side of the road, and watch for the carousel its an almost 360 corner! and its banked with rough concrete at the bottom of the banking. If you have not done it, it's a must! Smile

Looks a monster of a track when on Top Gear.

No too bad in a car I imagine, but on a bike Thinking

Oh yes!!!

The Ring made me not want to ride fast on normal roads anymore. It has to be on everyones list of things to do before they die, I'm going again next year. Thumbs Up

Heres me having done an SP1 and about to take a ZX6. Mr. Green

If I remember rightly it's about 10 miles long, and it is indeed a public road. It's one thing that i think is bloody stupid about it; they let bus coaches go round it for a tour. How dangerous?

Because of this, I can't see them not allowing race cans on the track.

But I think gsxrmick is in more of a position to comment. Laughing

It is 13 miles long. It is a public toll road.
they will turn away loud cans, there are officials checking down the exhaust at the entrance gates. I saw a few bikes get told to turn round and leave the road. As for a practice.. every round is a practice.. you go as fast, or as slow as you wish..just keep to the right hand side of the road. It did/does seem daunting at first but you just go your own pace.

They can stop you going on with a can, pretty rare though from what I can make out. While I was there my bike and plenty of others had race cans and nothing was made of it.

I didnt have any bother with the noisy pipe, you just need to make sure you take it easy when within earshot of the start finish. Thumbs Up
If going with a race can I would take a dbkiller of some description just in case as its a long way to go just to not be let on. Rolling Eyes

What did you think of the first set of corners? I always found them pretty tricky as my tyres were never warmed up properly. I wanted to properly crank it over but my brain was saying no.

I did the ring last year and agree that this is something that everyone should do if the chance arises.

Going back this year for another lap (or two Laughing )
