Nearly there, nearly there. Just keep telling myself that I am nearly there.

So then, a replacement motor is in. CR10 plug and 145 main jet with the needle raised up into its highest position (notch 4).

The fork seals? Well the fork seals are being replaced with genuine Honda seals. Just so you know I am also replacing all of the bushes in the fork legs to try and stop fork oil pouring out past the seals.

Oh, and the neutral light has stopped working. Will this pleasure never end?

Nearly there, nearly there...

trace the neutral light wire and make sure none of it is exposed and earthed where it's touching frame/engine, my Blade one was, bit of tape sorted it.

\o/

Someone else with never endoing pressures of bike repair!

I feel better now.
Replacing the bushes is a VERY good idea, I had to do my fork seals twice, the first time I didn't change the bushes and literally two weeks later they popped again.
Neutral light?! Who needs one! Miss Lucky will hopefully never want to stop once the NSR is running again!

Well by this time tomorrow we should have a bippy little 125 zinging about with a smiley girl perched atop of it.

What hp will a fully derestricted NSR125 put out?

Not too much, I hope...

Did you end up getting a new engine for it?

THe unfaired ones don't have quite the power of the fully faired ones.

Yup we sourced a secondhand engine. Given it the once over and it seems fine. Upped the main jet and raised the needle too G.

Are the unfaired ones just slower because of the lack of aero's or do they have a differently tuned motor. This engine is out of a faired one...

The unfaired ones are geared slower and seem to accelerate a bit slower as well, which would suggest they're generally 'detuned'.

Depending on condition, age, etc, the faired models should be 23-28hp.. enough for around 100. Not sure about sprocket ratios etc though.

That would seem to concure with what Miss L had. It was quite quick but it was a bugger to pull top gear. That was with the carb plate in. I will let you know how it runs without the carb plate. I still think it won't pull top on the flat though...

It doesn't pull much, but it does slowly get to about 10k.
Then if you get a hill your away :d ...although if the hill is going up...then get reading to downshift.
