I've just moved house and my road tax has just ran out. On the DVLA website it says to wait for the tax and SORN forms to come though and it might take a while if you have just moved address.

Mine ran out 31/03/06, so do I just wait or get on the blower and ask to send it / resend it??

Just go to your nearest post office with your V5c Confused You do not need the form they send you in order to tax it. You should be able to declare it SORN without it as well.

I've taxed two different bikes without the special form, and without having to fill in a V10 or anything else. The post office cashiers never batted an eyelid.

But here is the catch. So to speak

My bike is the 2005 Honda CBR125R. I was told that it doesn't need a MOT for 3 years from the day it was registered and my insurance has also just expired.

Did you do it without your insurance forms?

You don't need a MOT cert. if it's under 3 years old.

You can't tax a bike without insurance.

If you had renewed your insurance, you'd have got a cover letter through before the old one run out. You can't ride it on the road without insurance so you obviously can't tax it without insurance.

Fill in a SORN.
