Hi

If you want an equivalent to a 750 then go for the 1000cc twins (or a 600cc V8, or 500cc V16 Wink ).

Capacity alone is a pretty piss poor method of determining performance.

All the best

Keith

its not all about outright power, i felt happy with the 749s power.

Oh and remember to get a test ride on a CBR-RR or similar Smile - though of course you won't have the so serious tart value Smile.

Oh, and if you really want attention from people, you want one of these....

Had loads of people looking and massive admiration from some kids and some drunk people on a street corner!

You know you want a 748 instead. They look a hell of a lot better, absolutely timeless!

nah i dont, the 749 is alot more modern Smile and updated everything.

to sum up the ride of a ducati, the way it makes you feel, it made me feel special, the way everyone looked at you it was awsome, i couldnt stop smiling, i enjoyed the rep that came with the bike and the ride itself and for me thats what riding is all about.
if i can get my thrill from a tarty expensive unreliable italian bike so be it, ull all be sorry when i rape you on the twisties though Razz.

wave are they really that much better then the gixer750?

I dont know how much the 749's are anyho.

Sorry but if i was buying a brand new duke then i would just go for the 999, i only feel the 749s would make me abit bored.

And yes, you do look young!

sorry not buying new looking second hand which is a fair bit cheaper.

is it better than the gixxer ? Its not as fast, but it looks better sounds better and handles better and brakes better.

now all this could be sorted on the gsxr but its still not as good looking Smile.

How much do they go for second hand?

pretty nice looking bikes, wouldn't mind having a go but not sure how a v-twin is compared to the inline 4.

they go for about £5200-£6200 for the ones im looking for, but ull find with a ducati its not buying them its running them and buying loads of tarty things for it. they just eat money.

for a basic Termi system or leo vince (half system) £800-£1000
open clutch cover £150 to realese the trademark bag-o-nails sound
i also have no where to keep the bike yet, apart from outside, the gixxer dont mind it, but the ducati wont like it, so new shed is about £300 Smile

As for the way they ride, its strange ive ridden a TL1000R and Gs SV650 it seems somewhat different to them, id say the engine characteristics is like an inline 4, it likes to rev and most of the power is up top but still with a bit more midrange grunt.

748 (old one) and 999.

Your post has really made me wanna go and look at some Sick

People are bound to look at you on a duke since not many people have one these days.

p.s why is there white on the front? aint seen this before.

its a numberboard an official tarty mod on ducatis.

Newer ducatis are alot more reliable these days, but still need more care than your jap bike.

the 12,000 mile service cost is about £700

im not sure, i havent owned one yet, but as long as you check the oil check for rattles stuff like that. basic matinence and a service not alot cant go wrong.

The electrics still let the modern ducatis down, i spoke to a 2005 999 owner who said hed had trouble with the clocks, but has never missed a beat other than electrical problems.
