Hi All,
Thought some of you might find this interesting
I got an email with this

'Just a reminder out there for those that regularly do the Cotter/Brindabella/Tidbinbilla roads on the weekend to keep a look out for gravel getting dragged onto the road. I was one of the first to arrive on the scene of an accident out there on Sunday. Essentially a female riding a friends R1 had the rear step out on her due gravel and then highsided into the path of an oncoming 4WD. The 4WD managed to avoid her but had the bike go underneath and then explode. She went off the edge of the hill and rolled down the gully. Speaking with the rider last night she's gotten off really well with just a broken collarbone. Here are a few pics of the aftermath (taken by the people in the 4WD)

Fook me - can't be that often that the bike wipes out the 4x4 like that!

Lucky escape for all concerned, by the looks of things.

So uhm, i guess insurance'll write those vehicles off then?

Looks like one of the newer R1s as well by the look of the exhausts.

Glad to hear everyone survived, i've ridden of patches of gravel and done a couple of accidental powerslides, scary shit Confused

Shall we ask if they can send the remains over? im sure craig could polish them back to life Smile

Suppose the R1 gave its life destroying a 4by4 so aint all bad.

Joking aside, lucky on all of them for getting out basicly unscathed, seen much smaller accidents result in deaths.

Not entirely sure what you're on about.

The 4x4 and the bike were burnt to a crisp, the biker has a broken collar bone and the 4x4 driver is unhurt.

4x4 - 1
Bike - 0

um soo...

4x4 driver 1
bike rider 0

Actual Bike 1
Actual 4x4 0

Glad the rider is okay (well compared to what COULD have happened) but its nice to see one of those big chunks come off evenly with a bike for a change.

i dont think bikes usually catch fire unless you crash, so i think they wouldnt cover it if the fire is a result of a crash. You would be wanting fully comp to cover that one.
