Hi guys,

Just wondering what the quality of offical AGV Iridium visors is like? I'm thinking of buying one now but need some more info.

Do they tint? Or are they clear/ish?

Is the finish easy to damage?

Anyone got any idea what visor from here would look best with this helmet?

Iridium visors are the ones that are rainbowy. That one up yonder which the yankeedoodle posted is a mirror one like mine. Mirror and black are the two best.

Watch me get flamed saying no its not.

They have the same effect. Iridium is just multi coloured. they both reflect although I think tinted is the best for sun light.

Arn't irridium visors just a normal tinted visor with an irridium coating over the top ? Although I have a blue mirror finish on mine it's still a dark gret/brown tint from the inside.

I have the mirror on my TiTech. Very good in bright light. It seems really dark when you first shut the visor, but soon seems like your not wearing it after a short while. Oh, and 'mirror' is actually silver iridium.

Mine was a backhander lol They may be illegal, but they're far safer to have on a sunny day than a clear visor.

I've got a genuine blue iridium on my AGV and I have to say that the finish is very good. I'm not the most careful of people with visors but I'm yet to scratch it in 2 years. Its worth its weight in gold (well, probably more than that actually cos its very light) in bright sunshine and is definately the best biking £50 I've spent.

Full black tint are cooler and are far less prone to scratching and are cheaper. Just better all round Wink

I've got a silver AGV visor like McGee for my TiTech and it is great!

No sun gets in as such, but it just completely takes away the suns glare, whilst not making the world look too dark Very Happy

You should definitely get one Thumbs Up

I found that the iridium visors scratch too easily.

Arg I'm confused now Sad

Don't like the sound of scratchng! Should I buy the visor bag? It's £6.50 bring the total to £40 Shocked

I'm still umming and arring... £40 is quite a bit of money for me to spend on something...

I'm ok using my clear visor, I just want something that blocks the odd glare i've gotten, and to hide my face.

I would kill for a tinted one atm there is nothing worse than to be sat at the lights with the sun in your eyes and not being able to see what colour the light is. Mad

You could always go for a legal iridium. Never used one myself, but they are supposed to be pretty good at reducing glare. It wont hide your face though.

I reckon you should go for the 'Daytime Use Only' iridium (why state that if it's still illegal?) Much less glare and looks good too. I reccommend the visor bag - I used to carry my old one inside my jacket. It's a bitch when you forget it's there and it drops onto gravel when you open your jacket. Plus if you do get stopped for wearing your dark visor, you'll have the clear one with you to show that you were prepared if the weather should change.
