Sunflowers will grow anywhere too - a kid's tradition!

Combine it with a "who can grow the tallest" competition.

Yeah, we were doing cressheads inside, but we just had some low troughs built outside, filled with mud.
Good for the kids to dig and that
We were thinking of sunflowers, but nothing else

We aren't gardeners
we kill stuff

Pansies, sweet pea, African marigolds all grow easy from seed but can also be started off in a pot or seed tray inside until weather warms up just a little more.

And dont forget the good old sunflower Thumbs Up
sweet alssyum is another.

Also dont forget about herbs as kids love the smell, ie tyme, parsly, mint, etc etc

Rain flower seeds are more appropriate for Britain and they probably grow quicker than sun flowers.

Pumpkins?

When I was in primary school we all grew pumpkins, I 'won' as I had the biggest Cool and then we gave them to a harvest home thingy at the church.

Not a clue when they should be planted, or how long they take to grow. Laughing

I know I'm crazy, but I'm growing weeds at the moment (Yes I have an excuse - I own a Tortoise). They're proving extremely easy to grow Embarassed

Tomatoes rock, just spend an extra £3 at homebase and get the special stuff in the red pot as it does make a difference Smile

I was going to suggest radishes, I remember growing some particularly tasty ones at school when I was 7.

We also grew sunflowers and lettuce.
