We got it laid over on its side this weekend so we couuld have a look at the exhaust. Bought a complete engine, frame & exhaust off ebay last week for £100, so not to worried about what we might find......

The existing exhausts (headers & collectors) have been fairly extensively welded up and are in good order, but unfortunately have also been painted with some yucky grey paint which is not polishing off witht he wire brush. Hmmm. Spare headers are in better condition but there is a hole in the spare collector, and I would prefer not to be changing gaskets etc if I don't have to.

So we thought about it, talked about it, and out came the black hammerite. I think it will look quite cool! Cool May even look into this wrinkle finish stuff you can get, but for the moment.....

Apparently it's BBQ paint, so it should do - I'll let you know once we get it done enough to take out and test it!

I now have a tin of wrinkle black, which is going on rad cover, insides of wheels, calipers and a couple of other places. If the hammerite isn't up to the job it may also end up on the downpipes too, good job I've got a spare set huh? Wink

New set of conical air filters also on order and due to arrive in the next couple of days, and the re-covered seat is back from the upholsterers.

Oh, and I bloody hate polishing! Twisted Evil
