Wow, that whole article isn't shy about how it'll make a lot of money, I couldn't see one thing regarding some kind of benefit to 'society'!

I'll give you one, it may stop the little tosser who drives down my road 5 or 6 times a night in his saxo with the drainpipe exhaust. Twisted Evil Once or twice I could handle, but no the little prick is up and down all night.

interesting...i've read plans for noise speed cameras. a letter in this weeks MCN reads:
(blah blah)......If you change up a gear at the critical point and you engine speed drops, the effect is the same as a large doppler shift.........at 30mph the doppler frequency shift of a passing vehicle is about 8%. The the effect of engine speed falling by say 500rpm from 3000rpm to 2500rpm after a gear change is 16.6%. That makes 8% doppler shift for the bikes movement plus 16% for the gear change. The doppler speed detector would then send you a ticket for doing 90mph in a 30mph limit. - Bob Clegg, Plymouth.
