Hey guys, didn't know where to post, in photos or this, but seeing that this was a project, lasting me about 20 hours, i thought i'd share the results here rather than find my old thread, me being lazy and sweaty.

So what you have here is now my black kawasaki ZXR250 sans decals. It was quite a bitch to do for many reasons.

1) i had to use 2 part primer which caused my spraygun to cock up - it probably wasn't cleaned properly by the last user hence causing the hopper/reservior to blow its top off. A few of my mates were there when it happend and as such resulted in lots of primer caked onto the fairings. Lots of turp and thinners went on it ASAP but the damage was clearly done. I resumed priming the other panels with a paintbrush! Embarassed Confused Shocked

2) The LHS rear fairing couldn't be removed so i had to paint in situ, not the best way to do anything, but it had to make do. Numerous efforts to drill the retaining bolt out failed - it was already rounded hence using the drill.

The choice of using cellulose rattle cans saved my arse cos of the borked paint gun so about 4 coats of black and white later, i present to you my black. The undulations on the fibreglass repair have been sanded down and i've placed some shoei stickers to make it less blatant and cover up my poor workmanship. It's no longer a 30ft minter/3m minger as it once was but looks passable at 1 metre. From the pavement, you really can't tell the difference. After all, some of you may agree it's much better than the naff job i did previously!

So my target at the bmf is to buy me some decals and screws. Yum!

I used Simoniz gloss black, but i'm loving the matt finish - it's meant to be a top coat so no lacquer needed, but i think it needs some for the tank to prevent fuel seepage.

I'm probably going to get some off ebay - black "NINJA" vinyls and a few silver kawasakis for the tank and maybe a few sponsor logos on the bellypan - bridgestone, RK, etc

black and white obviously.

The bike looks inconspicuous but hell i like it. Only when you get close can you see where i coudn't remove the primer spill. Still good, chuffed about it though

Err, guys does this now mean i have to send off my V5 cetificate to say that it's got a new colour scheme cos originally it was listed as red/black. I'm pretty sure i have to but can somebody clarify this for me. Don't want to get fined or anything like that.

Biek colour goes by the colour on the top of the tank,

if your tank was origionally black then techinially you don't

however it's probably best to change it to black/silver

gpz is listed as maroon Sick
