They are good if you want a nice supermoto, there was one in Jeff Halls in a lovely pearlescent purple, probably overpriced but a lovely bike.

A friend of mine bought a 350cc offroader ccm, i cant remember the exact model but he loves it, has ridden it ona nd off road and says he gets on with it well.

Not the most popular make but seem good enough at the right price.

CCM. British made enduro and supermoto bikes. They are cheap because CCM went bust a couple of years ago.

Minimalist yet purposeful and focused motorcycles with a few niggles about the finish from what I've read.

Not sure if anyone got the company up and running again?

I guess they must have, as there was a stand at Ally Pally this year. Didn't look to be trying to knocks out excess stock either. Not much interest mind you.

Decent enough bikes, almost bought one myself but went down the Husqvarna road instead. The CCM was a little heavy and underpowered for my liking but probably a better city bike.

Known two people with them, both died (not just "oh no, it's no longer showroom", but seriously beyond reasonable maintenance) in less than 18 months of normal use. I was following one of them when the exhaust bracket let go and dropped the majority of the pipe in front of me Confused

the CCM R30 got some good reviews in the mags and I always thought they looked like a good laugh, big single 600cc engine in a really light little bike. Basically a bmx with an engine....

tiny tank & hard narrow seat mean they're just suited to short blasts on b roads and not really useful in any sense, bit of a toy really, but if thats what you want....

that new weird ccm with the chrome tank (was at the NEC last year) looks funky though Thumbs Up

a mate of mine bouight one and i had fully intended to follow suit as it was brilliant fun
but they are bags of crap
it disintegrated within about 6 months, rotted like crap

MZ mastiff/baghira street-moto are well finished. Maybe not quite as 'full-on' powerwise but a very capable street-moto.

They were selling brand new CCM's 640's or whatever down the shop for about £2400 LOL

I would perfer to buy a CRF450, just for the name and the looks are 10x better then CCM and KTM's

i have owned both the ccm604 (rotax) and the ccm644(suzuki)
both need exhausts to up the power as there strangled as standard the suzuki is smoother but the rotax has more power and is cheaper and easyer to tune very easy to service and good service intervals unlike most supermotos
ccm are back in buisness alan clews the founder of the company bought the company back
best of all there cheap heres a pic of my 97 rotax i picked up as is for £1000 had it a year now and had no problems oh and i do 80 miles aday on it

Think the CCMs are pretty much considered to be 'commuter-moto's as well, if nothing else they're a bit lardy to be properly 'super' if I remember.

The CCM FT35 Supermoto got an astounding review in TWO a few months back. Only thing against it being the same reason against all Sm's - its not the most versatile and there is no luggage space at all.
Infact it got 4 out of 5 stars and only weighs 118kg dry. Definitely not a competition moto though as its frame is flat tracker and lower than average.

Personally i think they look the nuts, love the flat-tracker inspired looks and i would happily have one as my next bike. Not sure where i would buy it from though Thinking

Oh and as for the firm, the Clews family bought CCM back in 2004 from the liquidators (CCM = Clews Competition Machines)

I bought a S/H Suzuki engined R30 2 years ago.

Quality steel frame, quality aluminium swinging arms and every single bolt is stainless.

It's my all year round transport and I've now ridden it continually through 2 winters, with no corrosion appearing anywhere and I've only cleaned it once.

There is very little to rust as virtually all the steel parts are stainless.

Matt: Be careful of people claiming it is heavy, mine weighs about 130 kg (they weighed it at the MOT), try and find another 650 road bike that weighs this little and you will struggle.

People saying that they are heavy are comparing them to either higher performance (read fragile) machines with excessive maintanence requirements or to bikes with smaller engines.

If you think 130 KG is heavy, check out the weight on the MZ Baghera or the Yamaha 660 supermoto (both about 200 kg)

It's not all a bed of roses, I've had a relay and a gasket fail, both of which I fixed myself.

On the plus side, throwing it down the road in winter broke the front mudguard and nothing else (£12), it starts, it runs and it has enough power to be a great laugh, while only needing a £3 oilfilter and a few pints of oil a year.

I'm not really recommending one as although I think it is one of the best bikes that I have had, I know they can be problematical.

Having said that, you'll have a hard time finding a better supermoto or a more fun bike.

For the record out of 6 or 7 of my mates who have ridden it, only one didn't like it enough to consider buying one.
