Meeting Place

The Macdonalds just off the a5/a483 junction is fairly easy to find and you can see it from the road, handy for midlanders coming up from Brum on the a5 also. Any other suggestions feel free though.

Meeting Time

Was thinking of around 10.30-11 at Macdonalds to give people coming distance some chance to get here. Open to change as usual, though we don't want to be leaving it much later I think.

The Route

This is a provisional route I've knocked up, all pretty good roads I've done many a time but could easily be changed.

Riders

There's been quite a few if's and maybe's in the Midlands and Wales forum threads. As of the moment this is how it seems to stand:-

Going

M1ke
10 pence short
Colin
Scorpius
Me
RealNinja
Extreme3D
Dodsi
Nath

Maybe

Philly46
gsxrmick

En-route meet / maybe

Phoenix (bala)
Simple (bala)
thelamoth

If you guys want to meet elsewhere obviously we're only going to be other places on the route at approximate times, any idea of where you might meet us?

Mileage bout 150ish, could easily increase that by taking in a larger loop if people want to though.

Looks like a lovely rideout. Unfortunate that my bike will be getting readied for a trackday then. Smile

Although it seems the weather is going to be nice, over 2 hour ride there and then a decent ride out is a bit harsh. Never seems to be a ride going on within 40 miles. Rolling Eyes Lol

Sorry, strike me off

I guess my hope of getting a bank holiday monday off from a shop that makes most of it's money on bank holiday weekends was a bit unrealistic!

So I'll be working on monday I'm afraid, I was quite looking forward to this aswell!

I hope to see lots of photos of the day though!

Roughly how long will the ride take from the start-point all the way back round to MacDonalds?

Prescisely 4 hours and 37 minutes 6 seconds....

depends how long we stop off? what the going is like ( i.e. lots of traffic)

also depends how many smokers we have, seem to spend my life waiting for smokers.

Erm, very roughly...

Assuming leave 11am, have 30min break in Bala, 1 hr in Betws, average speed around 40mph considering villages and traffic lights, get back to Macdonalds around 4-5ish maybe?

Mr 3D, assuming you're somewhere up near Thirsk, it's gonna take you a long time to get to Shrewsbury, bearing in mind it is a bank holiday monday. That's 300miles of journeying to and from the start point, that's a whole days riding in itself. I think you'd better leave now! Rather you than me, but all credit to you if you do come.

O.K according to a text message I have recieved, Shaun has decided to be gay and not come cos he had a bit a someone else's shandy last night and now doesn't feel very good Rolling Eyes Wink

I'm still in though, but I now don't have a navigator to get me to McD's, so you will have to be a bit patient Embarassed cos beleive me, if there is a wrong turning, I will take it Neutral

What bikes am I looking for when I eventually get to McD's, and can I have someones moby number for when I get lost Mr. Green

K, I should have set everyone on the list as my 'friend' so you can see my mobile number in my profile. If I've left you out pm me, or msn etc.

If people are gonna be late, past 11am, or not turning up for whatever reason call or give me a text. Have to assume people not in the definites list not there by 11 aren't coming unless you let me know Smile

I'm on a r/w/b nc30, should also be a battered gpz that looks like it might have fallen off a trailer on the M4, blue tt600, black sv, and whatever colour dodsi's zx6 is these days to get you started.

Ta for the pm stiggy, will text 'em later.

See you guys tomorrow, unless it's raining hard when I awake I shall be there before 11 hopefully.

The brakes on my honda bros really need stripping, but I managed to clean up the front caliper so that it doesn't bind too much. Look out for the ugly bugger with too much hair on a knackered 1980s japanese vee twin.
