All I am saying is, if you're going to order a new one you may as well rip it apart in case something blindingly obvious is wrong. I don't do electrics ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

It is possible to fix them, I fixed one on a DR350 last year. Usually or at least sometimes its a little resistor that has blown and needs replacing. They are usually about 2-3mm wide with solder on either end. Best bet is to get a fuse tester or something and see if voltage flows through them all, if it doesn't flow through one then it's probably blown.
Have fun! ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Previous: Firestorm (written off) - XJ600 Divvy - NSR125 - DT125 and a load of offroaders.

Well if it's already screwed then why not shove a screwdriver in it? ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Previous: Firestorm (written off) - XJ600 Divvy - NSR125 - DT125 and a load of offroaders.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but GSX-R400 cdi's are notoriously crap and difficult to get hold of. I've heard of people paying £120 and waiting 6 months for one, and they're very rare in breakers because of the same reason. Have a look on www.400greybike.co.uk for more information. |
