Last year wasn't a bad year. Let's see what we can muster for the final year of our species (according to the Mayans) . Thumbs Up

My plan for the year is to continue to be Mr Motorsport, with a touch of Mr road cars/bikes through in.

I got a 5Dmk2 recently and went on tour with some bands a few times last year so I might occasionally put some music stuff up here. The photo a week thing killed me! One day I'll actually finish something like that Laughing

Hear, hear. I'm just going post up stuff that I'm completely happy with rather than just taking a photo because I "need" to.

Xmas eve sunset. For some reason the clouds look like they have been cut and pasted but thats how the sky was that night. Weird eh?

So the first two were taken on the 30th of December last year but that's close enough! A few water photos from when I visited my family in North Wales over Christmas and New Year.

Waterfalls feeding Llyn Crafnant:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_2028.jpg
5 second exposure, f20, ISO100.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_2030-1.jpg
8 second exposure, f22, ISO100.

I took this one on the 2nd of January so this one properly counts! A waterfall just above the village where my parents live in the Conwy Valley:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_2153.jpg
2.5 second exposure, f22, ISO50.

This landscape stuff is pretty addictive, I foresee a 17-40 f4L in my future...

Great shots my man. Wish to do more landscape stuff myself with the 24-105 f/4 L, most of the stuff around me is dull as hell unfortunately.

Edit: forgot to mention i bit the bullet and bought a dev kit today, will report success/fail.

Edit 2: film loaded successfully, (am just waiting for the house to warm up so i can start developing)

Cheers guys! I thought I'd take some countryside landscape stuff while I was in Wales as Manchester city centre doesn't really have that much to offer in the way of greenery...

I used my 5Dmk2 and 24-70 f2.8L, no filters or anything as it was really overcast (raining in fact on the first 2 shots), I've edited the post with the exif.

I finally (after over 5yrs) upgraded my D50 to a shiny D7000 in November of last year so I suppose I could play along too! It's mostly just snaps of my family/friends that I take (mainly using either 35/50mm 1.8 primes with just ambient light) and I rarely do any post production other than straightening, cropping and white balance adjustments so they won't be the most technically spectacular shots, but I hope to pick up a few tips and ideas along the way!

Anyway, here's few from the end of last year (and a few from the start of this one!).

And finally, it's me with my NYE 'tache - the obligatory bathroom mirror shot. If this doesn't say camera perve, I don't know what does!

I'll take part again. Bit like last time really I'm still a complete novice, just upgraded to a better spec bridge camera. I neither have the money nor the skill to use a proper DSLR although I really want one lol.

I went out to take some photographs of Glasgow yesterday.
I got home and connected the camera to the PC.
There were no picture files to upload.

The wind was so strong it blew them away.

This was taken in 2012 I believe:
Not many good pictures from that night (very bad lighting, dodgy flash, limited positions to stand, lack of skill, etc) and not massively happy with any of them for artistic skill, but the subjects seem pretty pleased with them at least:

Cool shots! I really enjoy good lifestyle photos and still can't really figure out why more people don't end up with DSLR's when the entry level ones are so cheap. They make a massive difference at parties and things when you use primes and natural light, such a massive difference over compacts.

Occasionally over your way, happy to have a play with the camera if I've got time etc - though no guarantees of actually good pictures Smile.

This is my favourite animal picture (taken last year, as can be seen by it not raining!):

dont have a proper camera and like pinkyfloyd also use my galaxy S2, but for a phone camera it's pretty good, good enough for what i want anyway.

I quite often take random snaps that catch my eye when out and about so may aswell share in here.

These are probably my favourites at the minute. They were taken on a hillside in matlock town, overlooking matlock bath (well matlock bath is in there somewhere Laughing )
