The whole thing must have cost thousands. It's not like he seems to have cheaped-out on any of the execution other than the caferacerbobbersteampuk1PC seat unit. Lots of custom machining and suchlike. I suspect it'll go well too.

If you were in the market for a Vincent single on modern running gear, you'd be well on your way if you started with that.

Hell, you could fix half its problem by painting all the yellow bits the same colour as the tank.

Was there anything wrong with keeping it original, when it looked like this:

Half of it also looked like this, which I'm personally a big fan of:

Didn't Kickstart have one? Incredibly rare these days, moreso then the Comet I'd have thought.

Horrible waste of time and money.
A classic example of turd polishing.
That number plate looks like it will dig into the tyre when it hits a bump
No mudguards says it all really,
do anything but get on and ride the fecker.

Now I'm not so against that one. It's not for me but it's for someone. There has been some thought and effort put into it. I think the rearsets are quite cleverly done, they've at least braced the forks having removed the mudguard and have taken steps to stop shite being flung into the bellmouth.

It is an actual cafe racer. Albeit a sluggish one.

Some nice touches agreed (the paint and rearsets as you mention) but nothjng hangs together, the seat hump and the angled hoop don't fit, lower part of faiting is unsupported and ready to flap (if you can get that fast) and the Gulf sticker doesn't line up.. also no good for riding in flairs ,,

TBF that's one of the better things you can do with a 250 ShiteHawk..

Lose the startling blue wheels and add a rear mudguard I wouldn't be too offended. I'd only want to pay 750 quid for it though- max.

I'd go as far as extending factory mudguards if you're going to be really out in it.

However how much has been spent and how well it may been assembled, it just looks 'wrong' to me and wouldn't want it for a fraction of the asking price.

The shitty wheels and the lack of mudguards (that front one is as good as useless) are the worst part of it, I agree, but the void where you can see right through the thing where once were sidepanels is pretty comedic, surely?

And, no, I wouldn't have posted it had the asking been as reasonable as sum as you suggest... but £2200?? The sea's that way, dude.

Take two originally nice bikes, take them to bits, mix them together, what do you get?

A mess:

The Rapide frame was also worth a few bob, until the twat buggered about with it.

However not at £8000 when you can pick a project one up for £800. My favourite part though has to be this..

That BM is truly ugly. I thought the trend was to 'chop' BMs so they have less weight and are better suited to travelling 0.8 miles from one top-knot hangout to another, not make them unrideable....

I think FortNine did a bit on these bikes recently. tl;dr car engine, shaft drive, great tourer, easy a 100,000 mile bike. Totally unsuited to off-road work ofc. Oh wait... urban scrambler, silly me Smile
