It may be old age creeping up on me but i remember a few years back reading something about Bristol allowing Bikes to use the bus lanes and apparently the number of accidents involving motorcycles dropped. Is my addled brain making this up or does anyone else remember it ?

Lee.

It's been put up to local authorities if bikes are allowed. This was at the beginning of the year I think though.

Well the PM's office have replied to this one as well and just like the free parking for bikes request, they've passed the buck:

Quote:
Bus lanes are the responsibility of the relevant highway authority. In February 2007... makes clear to local highway authorities that it is open to them to decide whether or not to allow motorcycles to use bus lanes and encourage them to make an objective assessment of the issue.

Blah, blah, blah, so basically if your local authority haven't done anything about it, you need to ask them if they've made an "objective assessment" yet? Confused
