A proper woman. Passed away peacefully apparently which I'm glad about.

His pregnant fiance had / has symptoms as well.

On around the third of March he boasted about shaking hands with two corona virus patients in hospital. "And will remain to shake hands." Rolling Eyes

Best Bond film of all time in my opinion, from the characters to the theme tune it was pure class.

I originally remember her as the glamorous granny from this old 90's sit-com called The Upper Hand.

I suspect if he was really crook, he'd be in a private hospital by now...

^^^Maybe, however I heard today from a trusted source that some BUPA staff and resources have been deployed to work with the NHS.

Why not? Even Dianne sent her son to private school followed by Cambridge, and he turned out just fine.

Oh wait...

The way I heard it, many private medical facilities and staff had been made available to the NHS to help cope with the expected overload. So Johnson may well receive attention from such, but so might anyone.

In any case, I think he, as Prime Minister, ought to receive the best care available, as I would expect for any PM. I'd consider the PM pretty "key" myself. I'd guess that he would receive such even if he insisted on otherwise.

And besides this, as far as knowledge of how to treat this virus is concerned, I doubt private doctors and staff are any more clued up than the NHS. There's still much not known about it.

That is a little odd. If he is to be treated like a private patient, then why not move him to a private hospital? He is after all blocking a bed that an ordinary person who can't afford to pay for their own treatment could have.

It's an interesting idea but I'm not sure it would be helpful to move him away from an intensive care unit as most private hospitals don't have them.

Exactly. If you need a straightforward, routine, money-for-jam operation and your objective is to jump the queue, have a nice single room and an a la carte menu, then private healthcare will tick your box, On the other hand, if you need emergency intensive care treatment, or cancer therapy, then the NHS wins. Every time.

Hopefully you won't, but you might have to get used to the idea that some are more important, or at least more worthwhile cases for treatment, than others. I'd consider myself pretty low on the urgency list if the NHS was overwhelmed. But I'm ok with that. I chose how I lived, and life hasn't been so bad Smile

My point has a strong vein of truth in it.

That lady who brings the wheelie bins back for us was(she moved) important in a small way.

The fella today who made me laugh when I was feeling particularly low was pretty important.

etc hippy shit stuff etc etc.

[edit] Oh and the local vet today who gave us some FREE advice regarding our collie pup and some special intestinal dog food....very nice it was too on buttered toast.

Yes, I agree in the sense you mean, but unfortunately, your point ignores reality. All the good will in the world won't make nasty facts go away. It is better not to cushion oneself in cotton wool too much at times like these.

A small well aimed deed is the nail in the horses shoe.

I'm raw as I've ever been. I look at the nast...I breathe it in and spit it out and any respite is welcomed.
