hey everyone, i aint been in here for ages, but i got a good reason, and a good reason for turning to cars.
well it started about 2 months ago, i met up with this guy with an mv augusta to take me to meet some others with lower powerd bikes to go for a phat cane, all good so far
well i met up, all sound blokes and one bird, too old for my liking though, so were out on this cane and it starts to spit lightly, the most dangerous type of rain in my opinion, cause u under estimate it.
well we were riding along and we conme to a lovely corner that i love to practise on, know it like the back of my hand.
going round it and over taking a ped(lotsa fun always) an a car is coming the other way.
my front tyre just gets the white line in the middle of the road and i go out, the bike went under the car and i went into the bike and the car all at about 80, broken arm, wrist 3 broken ribs a broken leg ankle and my hip is all messed up, but getting better, so ive been in the hospital for the past 2 months and just got out last week, im now shit scared to get back on a bike so im going to cars for a while, at least till i get my bottle back, but mark my words, i will get that vfr400 and i will get back to biking, but not any time soon, so its see ya sometiem to the biking world and hello to cars, i just feel safer, but i know not to race bikes and i look for them more than i do for cars, so i wont be a wanker, i hope u can forgive me for crossing over, and i will be back, so long everyone

dude, that sucks, sorry to hear about your accident, it can happen to the best of them, the only problem with riding bikes

but to be honest, the best way to get your confidence back is to get back on two wheels as soon as possible, it wont get better by waiting

well if i came off at 80 i might have a little break from bikes, i mean i can understand that.
Even if you was to go back onto a bike i know that i would take it very easy untill i got back my confidence etc.
But i sorry to hear about the acident. Theres nothing worse. especially when it catches you of guard. But unfortunetly thats when it will catch you.

When you least expect it.

crashes always suck. at 80 thats even worse.

but to be fair, you were taking a corner in light rain at 80 whilst overtaking, never a safe move even for zim.

get back on bikes sharpish or you'll never get on. and avoid the white lines or keep away from pirelli tyres.

I can see why you wanna cross over considering you injuries. But at the end of the day it sounds like the accident was your fault i mean taking a corner at 80 in any sort of rain, plus overtaking something??? I would probably consider my future on bikes if i had some sort of freak accident not if i actully caused it....... Good luck mate hope your recovery goes well.....

Michelin are apparently very good wet tyres, Bridgestone are the best all condition tyres, which is what I put on my bike.

I dunno how much more they cost, bout £89 I think for a BT92 I paid, but what's £10 or £20 when your rubber's the only thing keeping you upright!

I run Bridgestones on both of my bikes, 020s on the Bandit and 010s on the V-Raptor. They are both very good tyres, the 010s are softer so they grip more at the expense of tyre wear. Both are still very good in the wet.
As for how much they cost, that depends on where you get them and what size you need (£120 for the back tyre on the Bandit!).
MrsH has Pirelli Dragons on her bike, and I've never had any problems with them.
If you find that they feel OK for the way you ride, then it's not worth changing them untill they need it.
You may want to consider the new Avon tyre, I can't remember what it's called, but I have heard good things (and they're Brittish!).

pirellis were bad on my NSR, my CB likes them a bit more but in the wet i shit myself, they really are that bad. the only thing recommending them in they wear fairly slowly - 3000 miles on my present set and i reckon another 2000 before changing, and they are slightly cheaper than real tyres.
