Dear All,

The plan is to meet between 1 and 2pm at Matlock Bath, on the Sunday 28th of March. At Matlock Bath on the West side of the A6 there is a Church with a Car Park. I recommend we all meet there. As the church should be easy to spot, and being a car park marked on an Ordance Survey Map should hopefully be a decent size. This URL should take you to the map.

https://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=429450&y=357920&z=3&sv=429450,357920&st=4&ar=Y&dn=815

If that link does not work. Enter the following co-ordinates into streetmap's search function;

429450E
357920N

Once all fed and watered, we could go for a ride around the area (e.g A6 south, west onto A5012, North on A515, East on B5055, south on A6 back into Matlock) But suggested routes are welcome, as there are loads of different loops you can do in the area.

Myself and Briggsy from 125 forum, aswell as some others, will be taking the following route. If any one wants to meet enroute please let me know by PM or email to keywalsheuk@hotmail.com (though PM is preferred)

From Wigan
A49 into Warrington centre
A50 out of Warrington centre
Past Lymm Services
Onto the A537
Through Macclesfield
Over the Cat and Fiddle
Right left onto the A54
Stop for Petrol
Into Buxton Centre
onto A6 into Matlock

For some of us this will be a long ride (over 100 miles each way) I suggest that you all give your bikes the once over. Check the following;

Chain Tension
Tyre Pressure
Condition of Tyres (amount of tread left, any nails in it)
Fluid levels (oil, coolant, brakes)
Brake pads wear
All lights function
2 stroke oil is topped up and bring some spare if possible.

Other things to think about are, if you're going to wear a dark / tinted visor remember to bring along a clear one. Bring a set of tools with you. If in a large group share the load out so that amongst you, there are enough tools for the group. Consider road side recovery (RAC /AA) if you can afford it. Bring Waterproofs if you have them, and or a fleece. Ii might be sunny when you set off from home. But it gets cold on the tops. Take a map, (print one off and tape it to your tank). If you don't normally, put your L plates on if you should have them on. It's 3 points and a £60 fine offence. Bring a camera if you can.

Most of all remember THIS IS NOT A RACE!!!!!! Be SENSIBLE Be SAFE. The roads in this area are notorious with good reason. The area is well policed (including a helicopter) so watch your speed. I look forward to meeting you all and having a good day. Feel free to pass this information on to other forums, or friends.

Disclaimer: As organiser of this meet up. I accept no responsibility for any harm or injury that may occur to persons attending this meeting. It is the responsibility of each rider to obey the law and ride with the correct manner and attitude.

Also, though this is arranged on a 125 forum, it won't just be 125's, there will be some larger bikes there, but at the end of the day it's just a meet-up for people from these forums to meet up with people they talk to on here, yet don't know and to hopefully have a good day out. This is on here, 125 Forum and Aprilia Forum, but please feel free to post elsewhere. By the way, if you do come, I''ll be on an all black S reg Aprilia Rs250.

Sounds like there's more planning and thought gone into that trip than Bush and Blair put into the War on Iraq Laughing

Good to see we'll have a few there, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all, even though I'm not much of a regular on here and don't know many names/faces nor will I will well known myself by others, it'll still be an experience. Also looking forward to seeing your Goose Scotty, never seen one actually on the road or started, will your mate (is it bigbrumtony?) be coming on his Mito? More the merrier...

I'll be picking a few up on the way, one's meeting me from Blackpool and 1 or 2 in Macclesfield so we may have a big train by the time we get there lol

It seems the majority on here are coming from the areas around Matlock or south of it, but if anyone North (West) of it wants to meet-up and ride down then let me know where you are - with a good meet-up place preferably, petrol stations are normally good choices or other places that stand out - and I'll try and figure out (roughly) what time I'll be there.

So far in the group I'm in as we set off, it's looking like maybe;

Rs250 (myself)
RSV Mille (my step-dad)
Mito Evo2 (Briggsy - organiser)
CBR900 (his mate)
NSR125 (his mate)
CCM R30 (his mate)
Rs125 (aprilia forum user)
Rs125 (aprilia forum user)
RGV250 (his mate)
RGV250 (his mate)
Bandit6 (his mate)
aswell as maybe 4 others on 600cc or bigger.

Then near Warrington, Lymm services probably;

400 of some sort (125forum)
Mito Evo2 (125forum)
CBR125 (125forum)
Rs125 (aprilia forum - doubtful though)

Macclesfield;

Rs125 (aprilia forum)
Rs125 (aprilia forum)

So looking like quite a good gathering at the moment bar any problems, and it's not all 125's either which is good I suppose! So feel free to add yourself to this or PM me if you want to meet up along the way.

Kieron.
*edit*added some more people who are coming so quite a large Wigan contingent going to be there so we'll make sure we have plenty of pies Laughing hehehe

* Bump *

Just bringing this back up abit...

I hope to see you there then, the organiser's away at the moment but everything seems the same as my original post so now I just need to find out what time we'll be setting off and what time we'll be meeting people along the way. So I'll update this more nearer the time.

Kieron.

Well as it's this weekend coming it's finally been sorted on what time's we're going and meeting up.

I'm meeting up with the organiser at 9:30am in Wigan along with some others (could be upto 20, but I doubt it) and should hopefully be setting off by about 10am after all the faffing about, looking at other's bikes and stuff people tend to do!

We'll then get to Lymm services about 10:30 and stay for about 10-15min before heading off down the A537 to Macclesfield.

Once in Macclesfield we'll be meeting up with some other's anywhere between 11:30 - 12:00 but not sure yet as waiting to here back from them on where would be a good place. Then over the Cat & Fiddle road and onto Matlock through Buxton.

In Matlock we'll be meeting at a Church Car Park as posted earlier (here for a vague showing of it's location, just after the Bath itself from the North, or just before it from the South when on the A6 road) and should be there between 1 & 2pm.

Anyone's free to come and meet us there, I'll be on an all black S reg Aprilia Rs250 (Alpinestar jacket & Arai Haga lid) and will be with an all red Cagiva Mito most likely so if you see us, come over!

I believe Scotty is coming up with a few others from the South of Matlock so anyone coming up from that way ask him where he's meeting people (I believe some are meeting at Pentagon Island in Derby but not a clue what time) if you want to ride up in a group.

Anyone coming from the North who wants to come down with myself then PM me or add me up to MSN Messenger (please send an email along with it too) at keywalsheuk@hotmail.com[/url]

You do realise that its 100 miles from Leeds to Matlock, right?

It will be a horrible, horrible ride on 125's.

Yeah it's a long ride but You have to start somewhere right?
its not that bad a ride on a 125, it'll just take a little longer than it would on any other bike.

i've worked out the distance using AA route planner and they reckon its 43.8 miles and it'll take me just over an hr to do going down the A61 so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Red, I've just been speaking to a lad from Pudsey near Leeds and he's interested in meeting up with you and riding down to Matlock on Sunday.

He's got a Sachs XTC125 (4 stroke version) and I've sent him your email address (tdcmag) and he said he'll contact you about it. I hope you don't mind... Wink

It's only a 60mile trip so even on a CBR and Gilera(?) it should be easy to do, they'll do over all National Speed Limits (70 on dual carriageways unless stated otherwise lol). I once did a 100mile trip to Donington on an Rs50, then 110mile back which was a fun weekend and one of the best rides I've ever had on a bike!

I look forward to seeing you all there... Try and bring a camera too whoever will be coming, I'll try and bring one but I can't promise it, and then atleast we should get pics of everything!
