The silly thing is, in decades to come people will look back and realise that they were right.
Not sure dressing in Greenham-Common chic and chanting mantras is the most effective way to protest though. Next time lads and lasses, try supergluing your genitalia to celebrity's door handles. Guaranteed to get you noticed... ____________________ Now - Speed Triple, old ratty GS550, GSXR750M

They shouldn't be asking what the government are going to do, they should be asking what THEY are going to do.
It's not the gevernment that leaves the porch light on all night, has the heating racked up to 25 degree all day and drinks starbucks from a throwaway cup with mashed avocados on toast flown halfway round the world.
Any of the protestors found with a plastic water bottle should be taken round the corner in the police van and given a pounding through a phone book with the hippy stick for being an annoying cunt. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. It's a great tactic actually, but you're supposed to cause the inconvenience to your opponents not to your own side. The Londoners they are going after have the same lefty liberal views as them. They're pissing on the choir |

What, that climate change is a nothing new and certainly not just caused by white racist shitlords in the UK and only worth protesting about when a Tory government is in charge, where they must be blamed, not the pricks burning all the energy? In fact, we produce a spit in the ocean compared to some developing countries. Maybe they should be campaigning against the real problem, the Chinese, Indians, Koreans and per capita, Arabs and Canadians?
WTF are these militant yogurt weavers expecting us in the UK to do exactly? The speed at which we're being told to cut down on energy and fossil fuels is already getting out of hand, where governments are forcing us down a road, technology isn't even prepared for. Wind and solar is fuck all use on a calm winters day.
It's these militant hypocrite millennials who are the problem, with their desire to throw everything away and buy the latest gadgets every year, their insistence for air conditioned classrooms and inability to walk or cycle to school.

An hour and 10 minutes earlier - How is that late?
Are you aware of how the idea of "before" works?
Do you have an opinion too, or are you just her to have a dig at those who do?

Limiting the population and birthrate is a bloody good start. It would at least result in a few 1000 less of these fucked up snowflake Millenials that have environmental anxiety, think we should see the good in every human, and like to have a label/disorder to belong to as being normal doesn't seem like a valid or fashionable option, despite there having been dozens of previous generations of boring, stable balanced normals.
10million less people in the UK which we might well have had with stricter border controls, would be a big help generally from the amount of cars, congestion, waste packaging, litter and housing shortage.
I agree that we are pretty good for environmental awareness, and reducing emissions and energy use here, and do more than many nations/enough to help.
People demanding us to radically change behaviours and energy use through causing disruption and protest should be careful what they wish for. Any immediate significant reduction in energy use or travel would result in higher unemployment, and worse living standards (meaning people can't then choose to spend their money on energy saving products over survival essentials).
I don't like where things are going with UK guidelines and tax/legislation that is going to force us to stop eating meat, and eat a very strict controlled diet because it might save the NHS a few thousand patients a year who won't get the chance to get ill from other causes. Where will it end, a tax on people that refuse to wear oxygen masks for walking to the shops, or charging patients for treatment that have been very irresponsible and not been having a measured 8hours sleep every night for the last decade?
Fucking nanny state! |

This can go on and on. You know its coming, question is, do you want to plan for it or let it happen?
Too many people reliant upon fossil fuels and lifestyles revolving around personal transport. We will end up in a situation where those that are left after some sort of 'whittling down' grow most of their food on land owned by rich folk with weapons, a modern day feudal system if you like.
Urban folk - fucked
Rural folk - ok, as long as the urban folk don't come robbing...
Those people protesting in London - fucked if they live there. Ok if daddy has a pile in the country and the locals don't take it over.
Caroline Lucas on a horse? Possibly if she can still get her leg over. ____________________ Now - Speed Triple, old ratty GS550, GSXR750M

I'm all for improvements to dinosaur burners and sometimes government needs to wield a big stick at manufacturers to get things done. It went incredibly well reducing the emissions from say, VW cars...
Back before the internal combustion engine was a thing on London roads everyone went around on horses. That sounds very ecologically friendly, let's all go back to riding horses (or camels if they're under 9ft.)
But horses eat and horses crap and before the car London was knee deep in horse shit. (Preferable I suppose than the bullshit coming from these tree huggers.) So the introduction of the car was, at the time, a huge environmental benefit in large cities.
The emissions fiasco proves you can ask clever manufacturers to do stupid things. Yes, we need less pollution but they should have asked for something obtainable like making engines less than 1 litre free of road tax and making anything over 2 litre a grand a year.
I got a bike 'cos going to work in a car with 3 or 4 empty seats is a waste and I don't see the government or the tree huggers driving that point home ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
