Hi I am new to biking and was wondering if any of the other girls on the forum had the same problem as me getting clothes to fit?
The girls Jacket and trousers are all silly sizes the manufacturers think we are all built like kylie!
I had to buy the mens gear but that does not fit properly either!

does anyone else have this problem?

Helen

Don't know where you are based, but try these:

https://www.girlsbike2.com/default.asp

Julie and Clare run the store in Hitchin (Herts) but you can order online. They're soooooo helpful, if you order a size 16 jacket, and they know that style comes out big, they'll phone you to talk about it.

They even now stock upto size 26 in some ranges.

I was up there on Saturday getting my new textile jacket for the winter - it's so nice having motorbike clothes that don't make you look like a bloke - I got sick of being addressed as Sir at petrol stations Mad

If you want really girly they've a lovely Frank Thomas baby-pink leather jacket.

Honestly, give them a go, and be amazed at just how much gear is out there. If the item you want to try on isn't in stock in your size/colour, they'll order it in with no obligation to buy. Can't go wrong really.

I get my stuff from Hein Gericke. I got pretty weird dimensions, I'm probably the smallest person in existence, size 6-8. Not ridiculously expensive, I'd try them out if I were you. Heard HG leathers are mad ein the same factory as a bigger band (think it was Alpinestars) but don't hol me to it cos I really can't remember.
It's hightly unlikely anyone (including Ms Minogue) would look good in leathers for riding as a pose to them tight leathers for posing. Mine give me a huge ass and make me walk like a disabled power ranger. Pop tiny Kylie in them, and she'd look similarly strange I'm sure.

Yes, I did - and I'm a standard size 12. I tried on loads of leather jackets until I found mine. I didn't want an all black one and wasn't looking for a ladies one as the styles are so naff, so was looking at the men's range. They also came in much nicer colours but the fit wasn't right. I ended up buying a ladies (yes, I know what I've just said!) Richa 'Anya' jacket which fits well and looks good - even though it's basically black with dark grey!

And trousers? That was even worse than the jacket quest! I had huge difficulty finding a pair of leather trousers which fitted and that I was comfortable in. I did buy a pair of Richa Street trousers but I never wear them. I wear Dianese Phanta textile trousers which are really comfortable and practical.

i was silly and got expensive leathers i couldn't afford but they are fantastic in mho

i've got the dianese sfc jacket £320

dianese firefly bottoms £250

i would like a proper two piece now and would definately go for dianese again

i looked at loads of ranges and because i'm not a size 10-12 (14-16 Embarassed ) my choice became limited without going for ill fitting blokes stuff.

my winter gear is frank thomas, i looked at their leathers but didn't think much of the quality etc

just go and try as much stuff on as you poss can Thumbs Up

I also got mine from Hein Gericke, they fit pretty well which is quite impressive given how long it takes me to find a pair of normal trousers that fit! My body tends to cover all sizes from 8 to 12 depending on what sort of garment it is, so finding leather trousers that fitted felt like quite an achievement! Smile

Wink i haven't Razz ....... thankfully i don't have to shop there Cool looked for a pair of trousers in there once as a last resort, tried on the smallest size, far too big , woo hoo! Cool Laughing

but on a serious note, i really wanted alpinestars gear and i didn't have a prayer of getting into their girls gear and i'm not an abnormal size at all, seems the italians think girls on bikes are tiny and generally pillion lol

a non-kylie sized female asked about this in another thread and I found some leathers on ebay for her. i cant remember what size she was but bigger than the leathers at her local bike shop

generally whatever you want its on ebay, you just need to get to grips with the search function

Thumbs Up

Silver Machine are fantastic, they arranged the alterations for my leathers and included them in the purchase price.

I've said it before, there really isn't one company that has covered the female market. I've recently been looking for winter gear, and can't really afford Dainese kit, so stopped off at a Heine Gericke and found everything to be far too large - too long in the arms, legs, too wide in the shoulders and legs so the armour moves around...

The best thing you can do it just keep trying, and you will find a make that suits you better than others eventually. Good Luck.

blimey one of those sites actually looks like they would do trousers that would be long enough for my stupid legs!

Maybe a nice business opportunity out there for someone who has the capital or at least a decent business plan for a web based business?

Hard getting kids stuff too..

It's something I'm looking into but atm I'm just so busy with work. Suddenly struck me whilst looking for Xmas pressies how few sites there are. Was looking mainly for t-shirts with slogans but they all seem to be quite offensive Shocked

If Evans did trousers i would be first at till! I cannot find trousers to fit. I have been trying the Richa moonsoon and these in 5xl fit but feel too tight when i sit down so they are no good. The 6xl no one has in stock. They just dont fit round my belly or my arse! Yeah i know they are mens pants and men have no bums but big tums but no luck.

Its a pain in the arse I tell you! I have a nice revit textile armoured jacket but no pants, damn it!

The girls bike web site seems good. Wonder if it didnt fit can i send it back?

Hmmm, there used to be an online business if you check it out you'll see that they aren't there anymore - this closure can only be a recent thing. Confused
