And then have to buy a charger and charge it, when this cable thing does it all in one.

people tell me the official battery packs are quite poor quality and only last around a year.

im surprised you dont already own a battery charger. ive been using rechargeable batteries since the early 80's.

I don’t have anything that uses AA or AAA batteries so never really needed a charger.

Besides that’s something else to plug in and forget about. At least with the battery pack it will charge off the thing I’m using.. 2 for 1 & I’m not making the fat cats fatter.

I wrangled my Amazon and AliExpress orders, replacement for the former and a refund for the latter.

I dunno if anyone else is experiencing this but it seems Amazon are the only couriers to offer a consistent service lately. Yodel seems fallen over since the InPost merger; I've had a few packages sitting in the depot for a week before delivery. Royal Mail 48 hour has been changed to 96 hour without telling anyone. Evri are overstretched trying to pick up the slack from everyone else Thinking

DPD are pretty good and Post Office seem to deliver early more often than not

Jack Pyke Tundra shirt (x2) these have sort of fake fur lining and are amazingly warm yet lightweight.
My tip one size down if anything as they are quite generous being more of an overshirt and they have a bit of stretch - warmer if not baggy.
One downside they take a while to dry after washing or getting wet - best turned inside out. - about £25 if you shop around. Cheapest are not on ebay.
Further plus points - large internal pocket and two side pockets can be zipped up. In warmer weather I use mine on its own or with T shirt under as a lightweight 'bike jacket' for nipping about locally.

* JP Polar fleece is also a good thick warm shirt but doesn't have the thick lining.
One of each is not a bad idea to try. With those get normal size they are more 'fitted'.

I have some Jack Pyke gear from my shooting days. Autumn woodland camo pattern. Probably the best outdoors weather protection stuff I've bought.

In other news, I found an absolute bargain of a golf bag. Unwanted gift, never used, still had the tags on with all the packing materials still in all the pockets. Apparently the recipient didn't like the colour. I'm quite partial to a touch of lime green tbh. Half rrp. Dance!

A wireless thermostat, the old one was a basic dial in the hallway. Which always seemed a bit mad to me as it would catch the cold breeze when opening the front door.

Wired it all up today. Thankfully there was some cable slack in the ceiling as the new unit's a bit bigger.
