Obviously, the scale and suddenness of the implosion depends upon the depth reached before hull failure, but
assuming a significant depth was reached it was literally so fast they wouldn't have even registered it happening.

Someone highlighted a couple of significant points.

Directed at the design. Or failings in the design.

Fibre wrap is used for breathing air bottles. Primarily to reduce their weight.

The trade off is that steel bottles are able to be cycled (pressurised-depressurised) indefinitely, provided the pass their 5yr hydrostatic pressure test. The bottle is filled with water and pressurised to ? x the bottles maximum working pressure.

Wrapped bottle have to be scrapped after a certain number of cycles.

Also fibre wrap vessels are good at holding pressure in but remarkable s4ite at keeping pressure out.

The decision to use a composite hull rather than a steel hull will be a thing needing answers.

The vessel had already been in use for some time and several cycles.

Since the CEO mandate was that testingbwas unnecessary, it will probably be proved that testing was critical for this vessel.
