Before I decide on my voting intentions I always insist on knowing what the actors and the rock stars think, so… same thing really.

O/T but it always annoys me when actors start talking about what they wanted their characters to bring to the story yet we rarely hear from the writer who came up with the idea and wrote the script.

Men (pretending to be women) in womens sport.
It will be tough on women athletes (the biblical women) but the way to shut it down is for women not to compete against men (pretending to be women) in sport.

Those who are facilitating that situation (sports bodies) will no longer have any place in sport, if no one plays or watches those farcical abominations.

It's a pity we cannot prosecute the judges and coaches in those events. That might stop it quicker and be much fairer.

It think that is one of the problems, the courts permit this nonsense because they are afraid of the backlash.

And it has deep roots.

It might take a generation to wipe out this lunacy.

It's so unfair on all women to allow a few men (pretending to be women.) compete against them in sport.

That's a fite the feminists should be fiting.

Just the other day had a twenty one year old (genuine female) express how she thought someones friend who by my reckoning is an autogynophiliac, was "so cool". It's the darker explanation for transexuality and I think transexuality may be spectrum thing with at its most extreme a person genuinely believing they are the other sex. In such circumstances it may be legitimate for them to be left to live as the other gender for the sake of their mental wellbeing, which is largley what assessment of transexuality is about otherwise the individual should be counselled regarding the implications of autogynophilia and cautioned not to allow it to impact negatively on themselves or others. I don't think transvestism is on the spectrum though, ive had a number of clients over the years who were cross dressers and largely they're very conscious of what they're doing and see it as either a straightforward kink or just an entertaining activity.

What are your views on the "group hysteria" theory? i.e. yesterday it was anorexia and today it's transtrenderism. A phenomenon that mostly seems to affect young women and maybe gay men? Thinking

You could describe the phenomenon of society as essentially a group hysterical activity.

It's thought a lot of Anorexia amongst men was previously hidden so nothing hysterical about the increased level of diagnosis. Also a lot of males actively commit suicide before the eating disorder element becomes apparent. I cant offhand remember exactly but there are clear difference in how eating disorders manifest and progress between the sexes. ED are clearly not a mass hysteria phenomena though.

I suspect with gender issues it may simply be that culturally its more acceptable to swan about adopting the other genders manner of dress. What only a pop star could do on stage fifty years ago a spotty oik at college can do down the supermarket these days.

Personally I see people born post WW2 who adopt the mannerisms of posh old duffers from the 1920s just as crazy as any trans peeps and more tiresome and somehow one of those got to be prime minister.

Huh? Nowhere did I say anorexia nervosa was not a real thing. Who's post are you reading?

There is a correlation between gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia. Something underlies the two it seems, a common root. AFAIK this is reflected in the numbers: anorexia cases tailing off as gender reassignment is on the rise.

<edit> Anorexia might be trending down but bulimia is apparently staying about the same. Bit hard to find some easily digestible figures outside of academic papers.

I was more concerned with your correlation between anorexia and group hysteria.

Group hysteria, it's definition is it's name, requires a group. Anorexia seems to be a very individual thing.

Did you notice how I put "group hysteria" in quotes? I can't recall at the moment what you'd call it medically but there certainly is such a phenomenon. For example, stupid fads on TikTok that get people killed.

Now, as to how far group influence applies to body dysmorphia there's still research going on. There will be single individuals with a mental disorder and there will be people who'll jump on a bandwagon and go to pathological lengths to get attention.

For example, cutting. Is that even a thing anymore? Used to be all the rage.
