I enjoy the whole process of specifying and building your own bespoke PC. I try and restrict it to every 4 or 5 years though.

Anyhoo, I'm enjoying Elden Ring again - like sliding into a pair of comfortable slippers Smile

I bought a Samsung Odyssey+ to play Half Life: Alyx ... had it for five years or so before I actually got to use it though, as it didn't work with my old PC Sad

Finally played HLA a few months back and it was fantastic.

I had a shot of the Valve index away back when I was working for Bose, during a business trip to the HQ ... absolutely blew me away Shocked

I believe that the Index is still one of the best systems out there, but it's still quite expensive.

Oh, what system are you going to be running it on, PS, Xflop or PC (as that'll determine which headsets are suitable)?

All the best ... Barry

My quest 3 has hung on my door for about a year. I've not really used it.

Is it cool, yes. Do I want to use it all the time, no.

Its gathered more dust than an old peoples home.

I have a Occulus Rift and it comes out maybe once a year and I use it a few days before I put it away again Laughing It's really cool to use but then the novelty wears off and I realise I don't want to be playing games stood up waving around controllers. I was much more interested in VR in the early days when the idea was still just to use it as a screen to look around with. Even bought the second Rift dev kit.

Plus there's not really many games to play. Most are just VR ports or half baked indie tech demos.

Driving games should suit VR, sat in the driving seat as it were. But then you'd also want a decent steering wheel, pedals, etc. Second mortgage and man-cave territory Smile

God knows how much money I have spent on Simracing equipment and subscriptions. I was away from it for a while but just started iRacing again. I have 100% content, been collecting since 2008. Way to much money to spend on one game.

The Legends around Knockhill is fabulous in VR I've got a Rift S at the moment but wouldn't mind an upgrade to a newer VR device with more resolution. I was thinking about the Quest 3.

Racing games are great in VR. First time I tried and thereafter is a wow moment

The bigscreen beyond 2 looks impressive and very light weight. Out of my price range unfortunately. Only trouble with VR is having to wear the large headset.
