Good night and god bless.

Feel a bit better now Wink

Whilst I'm in some agreement with the first part of your post (not exactly a fan of Bono/Geldof etc) the part I've quoted doesn't seem particularly applicable given that the decisions as to Honours are in great part made by Government Committees and simply passed eventually to the Queen via the Prime Minister for 'rubber stamping'.

Mayhap https://www.honours.gov.uk/ will help explain the process.

I'll happily badmouth every other royal but the queen.

Geldof and Bono need to be hit over the head with a massive bat though, for both shite music and being tossers.

Blimey you lot, I'm a little shocked by the venom towards Sir Bono here.

I for one have been a fan of U2 since 1983ish when the 'Live under a blood red sky' album came out. Lyrically Bono has just better and better.

If it was'nt for a high profile figure such as Bono then many issues would be lost to you and I.

I for one think he deserves the gong for the music at least. After all if the likes of Irish multi millionaire Wogan can get a knighthood for 'Children in Need' thing, then why should'nt Bono

Seconded.

Hes music is the only thing thats nearly as up its own arse as he is.

I can only feel sorry for green day having to deal with both his bullshit and his ego during their collaborative single.

Quite why a band of such reputation would stoop to the level of that irish twat is beyond me.

If I met the guy I would tell him these things to his face, and I dont believe he is anywhere near deserving to be called 'sir' bono. How about sir shitface twining millionaire with a poncy attitude? Much more deserving. Thumbs Up

Personally I think Bono is one of the most annoying individuals to ever walk the earth.

By giving him a knighthood we are only encouraging further cretinous behaviour. Nothing riles me more than a hypocrite - telling me to help end world poverty when he could probably pay off a good portion of third world debt himself...and still have more cash than I will ever see. Lead by example, not by preaching at me. Middle Finger

Bono is in no way deserving of a Knighthood. He does nothing at all that is noble to the British crown. People dying for their country is much more admirable, than somebody who makes awful songs and preaches about giving money to a waste of space state, like Africa.
