I read somewhere that in the rain the riders actually hang off more than in the dry cuz it means they can keep the turn speed up but also keep the bike more upright.

I allways used to hang of the klr in the wet.... which looked pretty ridiculous but *did* help.

It was Barry Sheen who starte the whole hanging off the bike thingy. Before him, riders sat tight and kept they're knees, elbows etc etc tucked in all nicely, then he started climbing around like a hyperative monkey, winning all the races, and the other riders thought "heh, we can do that" and ta dah!! A new style of riding develops

/me wonders if Valentino started to win races sitting backwards on the tank, whether others would follow...??

hi
sticking ure knee out alows for a grater turning against the centre of gravity F=XW (force=distance "times" weight). Also scraping ure knee can actually hold the bike up whilst going through the corner if u go too far, and it can also be a judge on how far uve got the bike leant over.
