I never drop the clutch and very rarely redline a bike, usually shift up 2-4K b4 the redline.

None of my bikes have had engine/transmission problems, even my TZR upto 36,000 miles, and I can happily pull away from most cars off at the lights without thrashing the bollocks off it. I don't get all this 'eat my dust' bollocks and the need to leave the lights on the back wheel at 7K rpm.

I dont bother most of the time either. If the guy next to me is on for a race then i will or if ive filtered to the front of queue then i will(but only in first then I settle down to 'normal'). Generally I dont bother tho.

as keith said, do that and u will bury a nova (and most cars) off the line to about 60-80 dependin on the car
trouble is repeatedly doin it will kill the clutch, and wont help the rs's engine last long

The clutches seem quite tough. If you do land up killing the clutch then there are Rotax race clutch plates which will be stronger still. I have abused the clutch in my old AF1 horribly and it is on the original plates at 32000km
