New bike + disc lock = oh darn

Round here.. someone would nick the blank reminder key, then I'd forget about the lock, start the bike, make an arse of myself and need to buy another reminder key

Went to ride off with my bike lock on many a time. Always notice before any damage is done. Forgot to chain the lock TO the back of my bike (for storage while riding) the other day and it slid off around 10 miles from home. This was 5pm.... at 4am the next morning I noticed, went back along my route and found it lying in the middle of the road!! Chuffed, retrieved £40 worth of cable lock!

I've done it too, thankfully only damage was to the lock it self and it was only cosmetics.

Did this on the SV650S in town, ended up asking the blokes across the road for an angle grinder to cut the damn thing off! !

I wheeled my bike backwards with a disk lock on, cracked my front fender and felt like a knob...

Tis easily done, thankfully I haven't done it whilst moving forwards yet.

i done it once but lucky the ground was sandy and gritty. the front wheel skidded forward and i remembered. a little brute force and the disk lock came off with no damage done at all.

Did that the proverbial morning after.

Left both the chain on the back and a regular padlock around the front disc (Didn't have a proper disc lock at the time), thankfully the rear was unharmed, but I practically sheared by speedo cable.

Speedo worked for all of about 100 yards then fell.

Not done that one since! Was given a disc lock AND reminder cable...
