No flick chain lube?

I usually get the wax stuff, where you wax the chain after your ride out. That way it's stuck on well and truly before you go for your next ride. Thumbs Up

Right, Iv'e got some friends going to the US in a few weeks, there going to bring some of this back with them for me, the Multi Use dry wax lubricant one.

I just pour some ScottOil on an oily rag and run the chain through it. Get my scottoiler set really low too, so it doesn't fling off, but stops the chain getin dry.

Hate the spray on lubes, all they do is attract dirt and make a horrible gooey mess.

I do have to admit, even though i do use 'Chain Lubes'...

Spray on lubes seem to make the chain go black/look shitter/ more dirty, quicker than if you use oil on a toothbrush/scottoiler/rag to lube the chain. (Oil also seems to clean the chain if you use it on a brush or rag all the time)

Theres also the extra expense of buying Brake Cleaner just to remove another product that is doing its job on parts of the bike you dont want it to.

I got given a can of Castrol lube. It works, but like anything you put on your chain it gathers dirt.


Paraffin is my choice of cleaner.(rags n brush)
I'll use anything to lubricate...Old oil..3-in-1..wax..whatever.
Important thing is i clean and lube regularly, especially in winter.

Difference being that scottoiler fling cleans off easily whereas some of the spray lubes I've used have taken some pretty serious chemicals to shift. Not so good when worrying about kawasaki wheel paint that's about as thick and sturdy as gold leaf Smile
