I'm patient and I will wait for the CRF450 greatness as I feel something spectacular will emerge when permission is granted! |

So, the bars on the bike are BMX bars, and the risers in their original bolt holes, were a little wide for the sweep on the mounting area on the bars.
As a temp measure, I had re-drilled the top yoke, and bolted some basic risers on, a tiny bit further forward, but about 30mm closer together so they mount nicely on the bars.
Issue is, they are bolted through 5mm ally, rather than the 20mm that was under the original riser holes.
So, I've had a guy I know, design some shit on CAD, and then fire up a wicked CNC machine to make me a cool top plate, so I can use my original 2-bolt risers, but move then forward a fair bit, and closer together.
Will make the bar position so much nicer, and being 12mm billet, it'll be strong as fuck.

Love the look of it now in red. Is the YX140 motor a fairly std build or a tuned engine?
Oh and do whatever it takes or however many crates of beer it takes to keep your CAD/CNC guy happy. I really need to find a CNC guy of my own to make all the silly bits I keep dreaming up for my KMX.
BCF needs it's own CNC machine shop and a friendly Martini welding wizard! |

The moto is completely Bog Stock, I'm even running a £25 chinese exhaust, and a £24.00 Molkt carb. All off the shelf items, all left completely alone.
The bike starts first kick, and runs an absolute dream.
Maybe a sniff down on peak power than some of the tweaked and well set up 140s in my class.
But yesterday went well. It was my first time out on the bike after changing the suspension around, and re-oiling the forks. I ran in both 140 and 160 stock classes. Each class had over 50 bikes on the grid. The grids can only be 30 bikes big so they split them into an A and a B group.
I qualified 25th in the A Group in the 160 class, and finished 25th. Other than the front 6 bikes, the rest of the grid was less than a second apart lap times. Mentally close racing.
I qualified 27th in the A group in the 140 class, and finished 18th I think.
The bike, is absolutely fucking awesome. Twitchy as fuck, the brakes are completely inadequate, and the suspension is practically non existent.
But im running Super-Soft PMT tyres, which grip for days. Tripod it round every corner with my knee firmly planted on the track, and just ride the slides of the back wheel.
Most fun ever. So glad I went back over to the 10" bike.
