I found that if you fill your tyres with nails and bits of sharp shrapnel it negates the laws of physics and sensibility and confuses the natural order of the universe so if you get a puncture it actually draws air INTO the tyre as you ride.

I have used a worm kit if I'm in a pinch, never had issues. Your mileage may vary, some people think everything should be done in the safest possible way even if it leaves you stranded for 5 hours waiting for a recovery to take it to a garage.

Obviously if it's outside of the prescribed areas I bin the tyre.

Get a ring inflator, keep it charged and it'll do your pressures once a week and re inflate if you have a puncture.
