Not sure how you would attach a shed to the block paving Rolling Eyes

I'm guessing you would need a concrete plinth at a minimum, with the shed firmly bolted down to it

Just had a look, a wooden floor is ok as long as it's fixed to the walls and on a solid base.

You could get an asgard - might need planning permission for the front garden.

I need to sort something for me, my bike lives on the drive, low crime area, still had one nicked and the other is rotting away. Got space down the side of the house but it's grass in front and the Mrs is growing potatoes there at the mo. I do like potatoes.

Yeah I saw those, probably wouldn't get away with it on the drive, might be better for the back garden. But I have the same problem as you, access up the side but it's always cluttered with siht the kids and wife have left up there plus overgrown from next door's bush!

When Lister asked Rimmer if he was a man or a munchkin, Rimmer replied with "I'm off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz"

It's a miracle she let me have a new bike!

Don't forget that Bennets will treat a shed as a garage as long as its got a solid base, might be worth looking into. a wooden shed chucked on some slabs would do the trick and not cost much as long as you've got access.
One insurance company I dealt with specified "made entirely of bricks" - this was only mentioned in the policy booklet, on the application it only said "garaged"... so I called and queried it because my garage is half brick, half timber.

They said "well, the wording is very clear"

I then pointed out than "nobody's fucking garage is made entirely of bricks because they have to have fucking doors and a roof"

"We'll get back to you"

I got an email confirming that my half-brick construction was fine.
Tickled me did that

I'd just be building a single bike garage in my back garden or somting similar. As to the wife.......We all know the answer to that.

How much of the problem is that a M1000RX is worth on £20k? I've read elsewhere that insurance can be difficult to find for high value bikes unless there's an XL Bully chained to it and Reacher sleeping next to it.

Just quoted my postcode 35 year old, 2024 MXR, 7k a year garaged with 5 NCB, FC is 733. TPO is 660, can't get TPFT.

Changed to my old ME18 post code which is in Wateringbury somewhere..
Can only get TPO, £1680. Cannot get any other quotes at all.

My registration finally hit the databases yesterday (on a Sunday, weird).

Now they can recognise the bike on my registration instead of me having to enter the make and model manually I'm getting much more companies wanting to quote me coming through now!

That's a relief.

So I'm going to keep my current policy in place (I told them it's being garaged away from my address, which it is) until 1st August when my policy on my old bike expires and I get my 5th NCD, and take out a new policy and cancel the old one. I'll lose a bit on cancellation fees but at least I get my 5th NCD.

So yeah, looks like problem is sorted now. I had exactly the same problem with the new MT-10 I bought a couple of years ago as well. The new Multistrada I bought last year wasn't so much of a problem as it was already registered before I purchased it (think I got someone else's cancellation).

So going on my experience that seems to be the key with brand new bikes, especially with new models - takes approx 12 days including weekends to get on the database so more companies are willing to quote you for it.

Well! This is surprising:

Bennetts renewal offer has come through and it's almost a hundred quid cheaper than last year and £30 cheaper than the nearest Meerkat offer Thinking

Bloody annoying that our insurance costs are being driven up to crazy levels by bike theft which isn’t then much of a priority for the boys in blue.

The "boys in blue" got better things to do than protect the insurance rates for a bunch of miscreant bikerz, who flaunt their disregard for the law every day on youtube (and occasionally on Rhyno's corner).
