* Remoaners Wink

I'm still interested in learning the following:

Am I allowed to get upset about immigration as a concept? (Up until recently the answer was certainly no.) And what number would be socially acceptable to get upset about: 10,000, 100,000, 1 million, a billion?

It's a point Ste has made a few times and AFAIK he never got an answer, can we get a number?

That's rather the pot calling the kettle black!

I suppose I should add that the economy has really not been good since Brexit, as was predicted.

Yes we were all propagandised into voting for Brexit, and had never even considered it before Boris went down that zipline.

The mainstream media, government, Bank of England were all pro-brexit. They even spent 9 million quid sending a leaflet to every house in Britain telling us to vote leave...

Again, none of the apocalyptic predictions came true, and even Brexiteers said the benefits would be long term.

What's really strange is we've had record immigration but things still bad Thinking

Yesterday, infinity Bomalians. Today, Enoch Starmer:

Furious left-wing Labour MPs compare Starmer to Enoch Powell - after PM said UK risked becoming 'island of strangers' as he launched migration crackdown

What is going on? Maybe we should ask The Socialist Voice:

They're trying to contain Farage/Reform. Based on the last 20 years of (broken) promises I'll believe it when I see it. The thing that annoys me is Starmer pretending it began with the last government, and not with Blair...

Well, if there's one thing worse than talking about immigration, it's not talking about immigration... to misquote Oscar Wilde.

I haven't ignored anything so I'm glad you raised Covid.
The whole world was hit by Covid and the resulting financial pressures but as I understand it, comparatively, our economy did worse than the EU's in the recovery time. Immigration still hasn't dropped and we aren't £350 million better off a week.

I do wish someone could tell me how we are better off after Brexit instead of rolling out the sad old comments about remoaners.

I believe the sticking point is what is meant by "better off".

Economically? Probably not. But then most people aren't so obsessed with money they're willing to sell their dignity to get it.

I think a better question is, “Am I any worse off?” I don’t think so, and I think that’s true of the majority.

It did, EU immigration (the driving force behind immigration at the time) dropped after the referendum...

...but the Conservatives increased non-EU immigration, a complete betrayal hence their last election defeat.

I disagree. You just don't realise you are worse off due to Brexit as the changes in price although visible aren't compared visibly with Europe.

As motorcyclists we have seen genuine parts increase in price as the pound has fallen, this applies to car part prices as well.
Gas and electricity prices have increased considerably. This applies to the whole world but the increases in the UK have been greater than in Europe.
Items ordered from Europe have increased in price as well as many suppliers refusing to sell to the UK unless its over the VAT thresh hold.

Manufacturers, this includes agriculture and factory have both seen a massive increase in costs exporting to Europe where many of our goods go, this has caused a loss of incoming tax revenue.

We are seeing a rise in NI, this could have happened regardless of Brexit.
The tax thresholds aren't rising in line with inflation but again could have happened regardless of Brexit.

Can you give me a list of items that are comparatively cheaper after Brexit?

I think that'll do for now.

Energy prices rise? Hmm, that'll affect poor people the most Thinking I know! Let's slap a "Green" tax on top, really fuck 'em up Twisted Evil

"But! But! That money goes to subsidising solar panels and wind generators!"

Oh, so we're giving it all to the Chinese, it gets better and better Sad

Politicians fucked up over Brexit. They never thought enough people were racist (their accusations whenever someone says something anti immigration) enough to try and change what the country had become. In reality if politicians had actually been a bit more understanding of the immigration problems the masses perceived it wouldn't have happened. It wasn't anything to do with money, it was purely immigration. Even after that the politicians didn't listen or they were too frightened of being labelled racist to try and change anything.

But now we are at a point of real anger. I hate the thought of a mosque on every corner. Thats not British, I hate what we have to agree with because if we don't we are racists and go to jail if we say the wrong thing. This country has, in less than 50 years, become the biggest multicultural shithole in the world, and I've seen a lot of shitholes. People might not like Farage but he is the only one that seems to actually listen to peoples gripes. The Torys did nothing to control immigration. Funny they are talking tough now isn't it. Labour started the mass imigration games with Blair and even what Starmer said many are bleating about Enoch Powell and racism. they dont want to change anything.

My youngest daughter has left, gone to Australia because she hates Britain. She will never come back. If I was young enough Id follow her and leave this country to the fools that have taken over.

That'll be why the word comparatively was in there.
Compare the rises in the UK against the rest of Europe since Brexit and see if they are inline.

That really doesn't make any sense.

Brexit had nothing to do with illegal immigration, you just thought it did.
Brexit could only ever control legal immigration but unfortunately the legal immigration it controlled was people from Europe who essentially share our belief systems, many Eastern/Central Europeans are Catholic/Christian and wanted to come here to raise families while working jobs the English wouldn't do.

How was Brexit ever going to control illegal immigration, afterall, it's illegal so doesn't follow the law?
