I'm imagining FFS68 stood in the dock...

I can absolutely guarantee you'll walk of the court room, the question is which door you'll go through and what penalty the magistrate gives you.

Get yourself a suit rather than just a blazer. Single breasted or double breasted doesn't really make a difference, it's the fact that you're bothering to put effort into making yourself look like you're taking it seriously is what counts.

Make sure the suit fits you properly though. Laughing

Is Slaters menswear still a thing?

If it is, go in, stand about in the suit department looking confused until the man comes and asks if he can help. Tell him what you want along the lines of "I have a court appearance and don't have a suit. I want to look like I'm taking things seriously and have this much to spend.". Then take his advice. You'll note this doesn't say if you're appearing for the defence or prosecution.

This was years ago but they looked after me when I needed a suit for both officers mess dress and for job interviews and gently steered me away from buying something that made me look rediculous or didn't fit.

Bring a dress shirt and proper shoes, they'll want to check the fit with those on.

I remember Slaters from back in the day but I don't go to shops/stores anymore. I've got 3 months to find a suitable outfit so I'll buy/return some gear online and get something that's looks/feels right.

if it isnt beneath you, you can find some real bargains in charity shops.

Apparently yes.. however they refer to dinner suits as 'Tuxedos' so I doubt their credibility is as it might once have been.

Fast fashion is run on the slave trade and charity shops are recycling in action. Make the right choice Wink
