Let me give you an insight into my consultancy.

Back in January I left my employer as contracting looked more lucrative. So I handed my notice in and prepared to venture off into the big world of self-employed-ness.
Instead of leaving, I was offered the chance to contract for the existing employer for 50% more as my services and skills were still required.
My website hasn't been renewed as as soon as my house sells I'm moving to New Zealand.

So in actual fact, my consultancy has done fucking awesome, but thanks for sharing your ill-informed opinion as usual.
