Wet or Dry Shave

I have a bath/shower and then use some K series shaving oil and have a shave using my Mach3 Nitro power. I used to get shaving rash from using the normal mach3 and foam. But not any more.

The normal mach3 is now used to shave me bollocks! Thumbs Up

Electric shaver, close enough shave for me, and only takes a couple of minutes.

To be honest the RAF didnt show me much about shaving, just kinda told me that i MUST wet shave everyday. So when im on leave, stand-down, or any kind of non duty i simply dont shave for as long as possible.

Right so how do i stop getting a rash on my neck? I have to Dry/wet shave everytime i shave. Round my lip and chin i have to use electric razor, becoz wet shaving round there is Sooooooo painful and just scrapes and rips my skin.

And then i wet shave my neck, but i keep getting a rash, im using King of shaves sensitive gel and Mach 3 razor.

I stopped the shaving rash as my dad did by using the mach 3 nitro power razors. Dont know what difference they made but it worked. I also began shaving immediately after a bath with king of shave shaving oil when my shaving rash stopped.

yer i have the Mach 3 nitro (green buttoned battery 1) i have been trying to let myself grow a bit of stubble let the spots heal but still keep getting them Crying or Very sad

Try after a bath/shower, then your pores will be more open. You could just put a warm flannel against your face for a couple of mins to get the pores open if you dont have time for bath/shower.

When you have finished shaving and washed the excess off then rinse your face again with cold water to re close the pores.

I have a Remington electric shaver that I use for day-to-day shaving, mainly because I'm lazy about it, and the electric shaver is quicker and easier.
On the rare occasion that I have a wet shave, I still find that the razor gives a closer shave

I used to use one of those sparkley 4 blade wilkinson sword quattros.
Untill I ran out of blades, so I nicked my dads 20 year old 'sensor excel' which only has 2 blades and is about 5 times a better shave.

Less is more.

Seeing as I only get one good shave out a mach 3 and it was getting expensive I now Dry Shave.....Bit of Stubble never hurt anyone.....Well apart from the Missus.....

I'm not convinced by blades with a hinge at the bottom (mach 3 etc) or with wire accross the blades - neither can get quite as close.

I use the Wilkonsword FX series for my head - the blade it's self is flexible, so goes around bumpy bits better.
I'd use Sensor Excel for my face as it's almost as close shave as the FX, but with less irritation, but usually use the last FX I used on my head.

Apart from the FX flexible blades, I don't see that the technology's really come along much since the sensor excel - they've just added more blades it seems.

Aggassi (sp) advertised a Shaver for your head a few fears back, looked a little like a nail brush, you slip it over your fingers and stroke it over your head, never saw them in the shops though.....

Oh yeah it was Bright Yellow aswell.....

Although I heard Boots did them every time I went in for something else I forgot to look for one.....

Now for my head I just use clippers.

I've only wet shaved my noggin a few times, it looks odd as I've a bunch of scars on my head.

Think I'll stick with the wet shaving for the moment.

I never have any trouble with the blades apart from when I've found out my missus picked up the wrong razor for her legs Evil or Very Mad
