It's perfectly possible that some good might come of Israel's current actions - that doesn't make them right, proportionate or justified.

Clubbing every young black male I see around the head will most likely protect me from being mugged in this area - but I doubt anyone (including me) would see it as proportionate or justified.

Think you have just shown the pointlessness of their current miliatary response. Blow the crap out of an area to useless attempt to destroy a terrorist unit that has already run away.

Target the right people with care and they can succeed without acting as a Hizbollah recruitment campaign.
