Since Romania and Bulgaria are moving in, we could just post our rubbish there Smile

We should make them eat waste.

If we were all a little more wise with our shopping and habits we could easily reduce waste without too many detrimental effects.

I buy loose vegetables, I use a plastic box to put my sandwiches in rather than wrapping them in cling film/sandwich bags, we resuse carrier bags, and burn any cardboard or wood. If manufacturers were pressurised into reducing their packaging or seeking alternatives to plastics and large boxes this would be far more effective than charging people to throw away what they've already paid for.

Colin - I am assuming you also have a recycling box for tins, newspapers and glass and a green bin?

What do you think happens to the plastic bags etc that you don't buy?
They don't disapear by magic, they are produced and binned by someone else.

Supply and demand mean anything to you?

If more people stopped using plastic bags there would be less demand for them, thus less supplied Wink

Well a lot of people do have those, like a plastic storage box, but some reason i dont. There wasnt one with the house when i moved in, i havent been given one, and i havnt asked for one.

However I do have my own wheelie bin even tho dudley dont provide them, which i aquired from where it had been abandoned by someone.

So i stow my rubbish sacks there all week before putting them out with the other rubbish sacks in the street.

the black sacks are ripped open by rats and cats and im sure we wd have less rats if we all had bins
