What G said basically but to add to that, all my products are competitively priced mostly.

I also only post things with a 20% mark up, as I'm not here to compete for pennies. At the start I was making between £2.50 and £10 clear profit, after fees.

Now I only list things with a £20 minimum profit, otherwise I can't be bothered with volume.

Some days I make £20, some days I make £100, it's a nice little earner on the side.

Tupperware was always done this way, as was a lot of other things. I don't like it, but it's not a flat-out scam.

If you wanted to spend £20 to learn about marketing, I'd suggest there are much better ways you could have spent your money - though I suppose it does teach a little about how gullible and stupid people are marketed too - I suspect more reputable publications wouldn't detail how to market to ponzi victims.

You live and you learn. I invested a lot in myself over the course of 6 months and I learned some valuable lessons.

1) Don't get suckered in to pyramid schemes.
2) You can make some serious fucking money from MLM.
3) Connecting with people you may never have otherwise done so, you can learn a lot.
4) The money is in making products/services, not joining them.
5) Learn to leverage leaders.

None of that is from any marketing guru's hype or bullshit, that's based on my own opinion. I knew what Rippln was from the very start, I even told the person who invited me to fuck off when they sent me the link to join Rippln, something along the lines of, "Like I haven't seen this shit 1000's of times before over the past 20 years?"

Only after looking at the platform, seeing how well developed it was, did I like the concept (as a web developer) and the marketing was admittedly clever but I genuinely believed they had something.

I know people who have been in MLM/network marketing for 10+ years, I've been in-directly involved in building websites/working on them over the years, members of my family have been in direct selling companies like Avon, Virgin Vie, etc... it wasn't like I had never heard of it before.

One thing you do learn from these supposed "gurus" is that they were already pretty good at selling an opportunity/business before they got stupidly loaded. Once they built an army of minions who would literally follow them off a cliff, they release their own products and that's where they make their millions.
