a cover is the only solution really. if birds dont get my car, sap and flora from the trees does. closely followed by dust.

Yeah, get all that too.

I'll go research covers!

I’ve noticed a lot more insect splatter on the car windscreen and on the bike helmet and visor this month, more than typical in recent summers. Not sure why. Dry, mild winter?

my guess would be all the fair weather weve had so far.
the hawthorns are blossoming very heavily around my way too.
theres probably an old saying about that, as there are quite a few superstitions about those trees.

I fixed my broken down R1 at the roadside. Surely pretty rare? At first I suspected dodgy fuel having just left a service station but eventually I recognised the return of an old problem, a loose wire from the fuel pump going into a relay. I couldn’t tell which of a dozen wires it was but a bit of wiggling fixed it, and I rode the rest of the way home avoiding bumps where possible and trying not to shift in the seat too much since the relay was directly underneath. I’ll tackle it again sometime this week.

If you were the rider who stopped to offer support near Marston Moretaine eastbound on the A421 I didn’t need to call the RAC after all. Thanks for stopping, I appreciated it.

So I was checking through various bills, see if I missed any. Whoops! Virgin Media still has £76 outstanding... for 23 January Thinking What happens if I click "Make a payment"? An error page: "Something's not quite right." no shit, Sherlock!

Let's try going to the bills page. Aha! May. Great! But for 2024 Sad Previous invoices? Just the one, December 2023. Back to the main account page and... it says "bill date 2 May 2025, amount £0.00, paid on 23 April" and view bill? That page says it was paid 2 January.

Aren't computers wonderful, where would we be without them?!

The trial didn't last long as the negatives far outweighed the positives for me.

Seein' my little doggo going harum scarum off the lead round the paddock and woods beside the derelict city farm. The rain kept people inside this morning* and she had the time of her life.

*(except a lone meditating person, ommmmmmm) , I tried not to ruin their vibe but Billie went up for a good old sniff. Props to the meditator though ... they stayed in the zone and didn't lose their rag at me Laughing

I'm in the same boat since I got scammed for the RTX 3080 .. I can use my GTX 1070 for now though.

I'm having great fun cable managing, it'll all be hidden away but it's my first build in 14 years, so I'm trying to make it look as good as possible.

RAM should arrive by Friday so should be up and running by then Praying

Very nice... if you have it on your desk! Don't like the USB port placement on the front.

Bank Holiday Weekend, DIY time!

Got a good area of the loft boarded out, mostly around the hatch. All done with "Loft Legs" so there's an air-gap between the insulation and the new chipboard flooring. I went a bit OTT with the number of loft legs but I'm thinking the hatch area is where you want the most structural support. The main thing is I now have a reasonable area to branch out from.

24 sq ft down, ~400 to go... Shocked

Today I have been mostly in the shed loft. Found the relevant circuit and now I have a proper light-fitting and switch up there Smile

Went to an engineering firm today for a weld test.
Even though I have no formal qualifications, the tester verified my efforts as 'pretty decent'.
Never welded 1.6mm stainless before so that was interesting but it was made a lot easier with their plant which actually calculates wire speed and voltage based on whichever material thickness is selected.
Given the old dinosaur of a welder I used to use, this felt like cheating!
