Yeah.. that's true.

Just chatting to the folks over on facebook and everybody just feels sick atm. As far detached as we are watching it through the TV, you can almost feel that you're there.

I just don't what to hear what those pious protestors are going to say about him in the next round... but I can expect one very special season finale.

Forst, got that feeling too... and i think most of us have it as well.

This.

I hope he's remember for the right reasons, as the 2008 250cc champion and a rising star, rather than as an outcast.

Crash is already well embedded on Youtubes related links to motorbike stuff. Damn that looked nasty. Surprised he survived long enough to make it to hospital by the look of him on track.

He was racing right to the end, still hanging on rather than just letting it go. Nobody can take that away from him.

Awful stuff, I hope that Edwards and Rossi are OK. There was nothing that they could do, but I doubt that makes them feel better.

I agree, one of ny two favourite riders. Tragic loss. We are getting too many people dying lately.

RIP - Marco.

What a terrible waste of talent. I knew it was not going to be good news when he lay there motionless without his lid. Just feel very sick about it. Poor guy.

Condolences to his family and friends

It's a very sad loss, the guy was excellent and i'm sure was destined for better things next year.

RIP Simmo Crying or Very sad

by the way, for quicker updates twitter was the place to be, signup and search motogp and start adding people. It's got commentators, teams, riders etc. Although at the moment none of it makes nice reading, but this updates well before any of the media outlets have stories.

Ciao Super Sic, you were most definitely the next rider to be a great, taking over from Rossi. I hope there's MotoGP in heaven. Thumbs Up.

Was there any real reason to dislike the guy? One hell of a character and a proper racer going to miss the guy loads. Sad

RIP MS58

Very sad news Sad
Went out for an early morning cycle and was planning to watch the GP when I got home, but received text messages informing me of the news before I got back.
I watched the race anyway but it was terrible watching Simo on the grid knowing it would be his last race. Then watching the first few laps basically waiting for him to die.

I've seen this quoted on another forum-

”Aren't you scared you might die in an accident?”

”No. You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life." [Marco Simoncelli]

I can't find an official source though so I'm unsure if that is something he said, I hope it is though.

Honda wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

I went out for a ride after the sad news. Feel a little better. Neutral

Wonder if the inquest will reveal anything. I often see racers slip their helmets on as if they're a loose fit. i.e no hamster cheeks. Also wondered with Simoncelli's big hair whether his helmet was a good fit.

Does anyone fancy a meet at The Ace cafe this afternoon for a memorial drink?

Sad

I cried when I read about it. Never met the guy, but such a loveable character and a true racer.

His lid shattered when a front wheel hit it.

It didnt "fall off" it was destroyed by the impact.
