As i am new to the biking world i wont go into the experience of the motorbike rider, i will only say think really carefully about hanging up your helmet...i didnt know colin but i am sure he would have wanted you to almost take up his legacy of enjoying life to the full and enjoying what time we have with the special people in our life.....our words on sympathy probably at this time of your life mean very little....but be sure of one things 'bikers stay together' and we will always be here if you need to talk about the loss of ur gr8 friend....as i am merely 17 and my life experience is relatively small i can only offer my deepest apologies....

Thumbs Down @ bringing up an old thread although the type of thread it is kind of changes me being annoyed by it. You can die just as easily in a car as you can on a bike.

yh but in a car you cant get run over and when you do lose control you have a steel cage protecting you, as a bike your only saftey devise are a helmet and leathers, and most leather wont save you if you are run over, i am hearing so many storys about all sorts of riders (ped kids and experianced bikers) being involved in fatal crashs, where as most fatal car accident are caused by speeding and drink driving.

Those are the typical car accidents you hear about, there are plenty of car accidents where something goes wrong and for one reason or another the car crashes, when travelling at 60mph, death is just as easy to some by, you are trapped with nowhere to go in that steel cage.

So sorry to read this mate.

Thoughts go out to yourself, his family and all the people who knew the guy.

Respect to you for writing those words in your initial post. Must've been hard writing that.

Got tears in my eyes after reading he had Sweet Child O Mine playing - that's my fav song.

RIP Coastal Coll. Let's hope you join the Heavens Angels mate.

You can't just assume that the big metal cage around you means you're safe in the event of a crash, you can quite easily get hurt in a car crash by that big cage around you for your safety. If you go out into the world and drive around with the idea in your head that if you crash in your car you don't care as you'll be safe due to the metal cage you could well find out the hard way how wrong that is. As I haven't yet, rest in peace buddy. Karma

Very sad to hear, my thoughts are with all who knew him.

It is sad to see someone get injured from a crash even, but like been mentioned before, stopping riding is a gut instinct.

Im sure you knew the risks of riding when you had your bike, whats changed?

Reading that brought a tear to my eye, I have many friends who ride bikes and the thought of loosing one of them shudders the mind, let alone seeing it actually happen.

If there is a heaven up there, Then I know hes riding them long open roads up to it. Rest in peace Collin.
