apologies of that's how it sounded, it was in no way meant to come across that way. We are pleased to hear that you will try the pads.

I'm hoping to get a set of free pads for my birthday, trying a set of EBC sintered pads in my Shimano Saint brakes would be interesting as I'd be comparing them to the Shimano sintered pads.

Now I've always run EBC sintered pads on Hope brakes as they seem 'sharper' than the pads from Hope and the moment I've no idea how EBC pads compare to Shimano pads.

This forum is also home to www.cyclechatforums.com as we don't just do motorbikes here. Laughing

I’ve never bothered caring about what parts got out on my car so I may or may not have ever had EBC pads on my cars. Now that I have a shite Chinese motorcycle I’ve decided to get good discs, pads and tyres at least

OK so I am confused, I thought the EBC Brakes Account was a representative of EBC Brakes, and by that I mean of the actual manufacturer themselves: Freeman Automotive (UK) Ltd. Are they not? Embarassed

I didn't realise how big EBC brakes actually were, I thought they were a small boutique brake company that would probably turnover around the £10 - £15m mark. I thought their route to market would probably be high-profitability product made in the Far East and rebranded as EBC but from what I can find in my 15 minutes of looking: they have a lot more routes to market and manufacture components themselves (callipers at least, but I suspect they also do the pads, etc themselves directly).

Looking at Google Maps at their HQ I initially thought it was simply a distribution centre as it's probably about the size of my company's distribution centre and we import from our factory in the Far East but we also have distribution centres in eight other locations around the world.

Just checked their accounts and they turnover a nudge over £31,000,000 (£40,600,000 for the whole Group) which is not to be sneezed at. Genuinely impressed to be honest, especially at their 38.9% profit margin (59.84% for the whole Group). As a businessman I think they look a great operation with good accounts. If they ever float as a public company I'd be into the IPO.

Hi,

You are pretty accurate with your findings. Yes, This account and any other forum accounts are managed by a representative of EBC Brakes/ Freeman Automotive (UK) Ltd.

As a well established British company, We produce our own brake pads, discs, calipers and brake hoses for automotive, motorcycle, Mountain Bikes, ATV, Karts and a number of other applications in the UK.

Our Northampton office/ global HQ also houses a distribution site, our Centre of Excellence and manufacturing departments, We also have a number of additional manufacturing locations around the world including Cleveland, Ohio and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Thanks for taking your time to provide some constructive points and valid information. Maybe you will even try our products at some point....

Looking at the email link in your signature, it appears you are a digital nomad.
https://www.ebcbrakesuk.com/ nothing hosted there.

https://ebcbrakesuk.com/ no secured non-www version either.

https://ebcbrakesuk.com links to a domain name place holder. If you are who you say you are, how does your mail reach you?

Perhaps sockshop.com might have been a better bet? At least they know how to redirect properly.

Oh, and how much copper grease should I put on the back of my pads when I win them?

It's a spamming git, as was fairly obvious. Try a search for "forumadministrator@ebcbrakesuk.com"

Ditto. 'Well stuck-at' as the rugby opposition often used to say when were on the wrong end of an 80 point drubbing.

According to their company accounts, their average salary is £23,808.55 for FY 2019. Decent money to earn for making the rounds on some forums if it's in that ballpark.

I just like to point out that this forum (like many others) is under constant attack from spammers and socks so it's only natural for the inmates members to be suspicious. That and everyone is incredibly bored due to lockdowns.

Or even more ironically, rear ending someone due to lack of stopping power.
