Hi,

Many people who drive cars have absolutly no idea how they work, or what would happen if. Thus if it goes wrong panic is going to worse and they can't think of a solution. I know people who belive brakes and things only work if the engine is on, is does not matter its true or not. when it all goes wrong.

I seems a bit of desperate story to be made up, as he could have been really badly injured and if it was planned they would know the car would be gone over with a fine toothcombe.

Oh in my experiance the handbrakes in autos are usless. A two handles braced pull to just about squeek a mot and you had until next year !

and dodsi - he was not onthe M1 it was the A1(M)
Regards
C

I think dodsi was referring to the A1/M1 junction. Given the choice I would have gone for the 3 lane motorway rather than turning off on to a 2 lane A road.
