Or was it more personal and you didn't like the fact I pointed out the flaw in your thinking? You still haven't explained your source and have resorted to your typical 'ad hominin' response instead.

Aha! You admit I think about things. Feeling even more smug now Laughing

Personally I'd rather debate but if you want to pull everything down to a personal attack feel free. I'm told it's rather like screaming racist when you've run out of arguments.

Everyone thinks. It's a thing your brain does automatically.

Whether oor not it's rational thinking is another matter entirely.

For details about the cumulative fiscal impact of migrants have a look at pages 3, 4 and pages 106 to 111.

Here's the 411 folks.

Say some gangsta is dissin' your fly girl, you just give them one of these:
[list][*]Large-scale migration has not delivered significant growth in GDP per capita, and has increased the strain on our capital stock, from roads and GP surgeries to housing.

If they’re working in the NHS, for example, they won’t promote growth in GDP, but they’re still providing a necessary service,

Do those figures include the illegal immigrants who can’t work, or the iffy non-professional ones somehow allowed in to find “work” in the money-laundering and gig-economies?

https://cps.org.uk/media/post/2024/mass-migration-not-delivering-promised-economic-benefits-say-jenrick-and-obrien/

The full report is 116 pages.

The fiscal risks and sustainability report does include the iffy non professionals. Why not have a look at pages 3, 4 and 106 to 111?

Define "rational" Wink

Here's an easy one:

Is a story more real if it's printed in a book?

Seems unlikely. Source?

Placing one’s head in the sand is, unfortunately, not the same as actual policymaking. Europe has ignored these issues for too long, and voters will make their discontent heard at the voting booth.

There is the big difference where the Dutch have to accept anyone from the EU and give them the same treatment as their citizens where benefits and healthcare are concerned, whereas when we set immigration policy we can insist that they are self funding and cannot use our benefits system or healtcare system.

I thought that was one of the fucking points of brexit.

Until we walk away from the ECHR we haven't left. Which of course will never happen under a human right lawyer as PM, will it.

It's hard to walk away from a treaty we drafted. The ECHR works on the principles laid out on the European Convention of HUman Rights wwhich was drafted by UK lawyers at the end of the second world war.

Because of the racists.

Well done Nobby. Wave the racist flag.

Perhaps something that was drafted nearly 100 years ago is well out of date but no one dares to try and change because RACIST is shouted as soon as it is questioned.

I said it was written because of the racists. The NAZIs were racist. It was written because of them.

It's not all about you.

If, however, you want you wear that mantle that would be your choice.

Well they're lying to us for a reason, when they know full well 'migrants' are a net drain as that Dutch study and numerous others show (the CPS report you linked or the OBR report from a couple months back).

Still living in the shadow of events 80 years ago Sad Having an effective asylum and migration system when there were large swathes of dispossessed peoples across a Europe recovering from a world war was fine and noble at the time but now it's been turned into a weapon to demoralise native populations.

Also those huge movements of Europeans back to their respective countries meant they ended up more ethnically homogeneous.

Net migration hit record 906,000 last year

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) originally estimated it was 740,000 but has now revised this figure upwards by 166,000.

Hundreds of Office for National Statistics (ONS) workers have voted to strike in a dispute over how often they come into the office.

Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), based at the Newport, Titchfield, London, Darlington, Manchester and Edinburgh ONS offices, voted by 92% in favour of action.

Since May, workers have been refusing to spend at least 40% of their time in the office, continuing to work from home.

They recently escalated the dispute by refusing to work overtime, out of hours and out of grade.

What do they actually do and would anyone notice if they withdrew their services?

There used to be a sanction for not going in to work, it was called the sack.

I can hardly even remember how to get to the office.

I do governance, the need for audit trails means email is king and as the team is split within 4 main locations (not including those in other countries) going into the office really makes no difference to my productivity.

Productivity went through the roof at my company once we fully committed to working from home but I've seen plenty of large organisations where it's ground to a halt.
