Craig you have some valid points on the veil subject but you have to stop generalising the ‘whiteys’ and look at the bigger picture. The veils you mentioned above are not worn out on the streets, in teaching or what ever, it’s ceremonial.

Some of the veils mentioned are worn in the street, just not as often as previous years. Regardless my point was to show how innaccurate Pwtnifx's statement was about only muslims wearing a veil.

Pwtnfx makes lots of statements with no substance, like calling me an idiot for stating Christians and Muslims have lived in harmony at various ponts through out history. He makes assumptions about where I've lived which are wrong. In fact he makes numerous mistakes which just drags his argument down.

The fact he does not admit to them, well, just shows that the only thing he is willing to accept is that he is never wrong Laughing

The generalisation of 'whiteys' was based on my personal experience. I fail to see what is so wrong about it. From Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Middlesbrough to Edinburgh, Glasgow and even Fraserburgh I very rarely talk to anyone white who openly welcomes Muslim culture. Most have their reservations.

On a side note the only people I know who openly welcome immigrants is business owners. Cheap labour that works hard.

Yeah, me to, but unfortunately there are enough of them causing some sort of shit for us to notice

I don't believe this entirely. I think the media likes to continually have a muslim related story as its very easy news to generate viewing figures from and sell papers.

A fine example is the ex BNP member who was caught with the largest haul of chemicals for explosives in the UK ever. This story didn't make any national headlines....I find myself asking why does this story that is a massive anti terror success relegated to the Barnleys Citisen? Is it because nobody is interested in a white man creating a terror scare?

sorry but who gave them the fucking right to ask that from someone who is part of the very runnings of the country that welcomed them here?

Well, we did. Its a free country and as such you can ask for an apology. It happens all the time from anti speed groups demandign Jeremy Clarkson apologises for being a speed head, to white people demanding an apology from the police for positive discrimination. Every group in the country, if they stand for something, tends to take a hard line approach when something goes against their generally beleifs.

What I'm saying is rather than target the muslims for blame all the time that maybe we would be better looking at our own leaders who contiously cave into these ridiculous demands. Show a bit of strength.....'right I've heard your complaint, its bollocks, fuck off', (I know its never gonna happen though).

I hope you all caught the Newsnight debate last night and saw the kind of people wearing and supporting it.

David Dimbledy knocking back the guy when he raised concerns about the security issue was very funny.

Much ado about nothing. I thought it was ridiculous that the Lib Dems said Jack Straw should never have aired his opinion, which nearly made me choke on my tea......Like since when did asking to see someones face whilst chatting to them become a f*cking issue of national debate.

The Scottish guy was quite funny, promoting mob rule. It was quite funny to see him get knocked back as it was pointed out being a jock made him a minority (what a pikey bastard, going on air with a celtic top on).

The Comedian was cool and I agreed with him saying that the veil issue has simple been used to bring forward public misunderstanding of Muslims in general.

The chicks in the veils looked like ninjas Laughing

And I only caught the last five minutes of it, so if any of the above is innaccurate then so be it Laughing

Probably the most interesting point was that of the two women wearing the veil, one was a white lancastrian woman who had recently converted and the other had "recently found a new depth to her faith".

Hmm..Thinking

Did for the most part agree with the Sikh guy though.
The moronic labour representative did nothing to improve the party's reputation.. Rolling Eyes

Rather for no other reason than to make an issue of her religion for confrontational purposes.

This is a free country, let them wear what they want. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, infact, I welcome it. There is a bigger advantage to be gained by muslims seperating themselves from the British public. Thinking long-term, like.

Harold_Shand's theory might be the best explanation.

So now she was wearing it to show support for Al Quaeda , because her man oppressed her and on top of these things to stir up confrontation.

If it was for the latter reason then you definitely took the bait.

Excuse us for being white and british in our own white and british country. Laughing

Anyone here who isn't white is a guest, born here or otherwise. I don't have a problem with any of them who integrate, but as soon as they start bleating for special non-white provision they can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

I believe he's only gone and hit the nail well-and-truley on the head.

Indeed. An alien culture that has no place in our country. One travels to enjoy alien cultures, one does not expect them to be rammed down one's throat on one's own fucking doorstep.

Well said that man. My thoughts exactly. Thumbs Up

I think the main distinction that has to be made is that the Muslim faith is not simply a faith, it is a full on culture.

Yeah sure, wear the veil. At home, at the mosque. Not in the fucking street. We can take the religion, but it's like they are trying to move Iran here or something. Do it at home and in your place of worship, we don't want the rest of the bollocks that goes with it, in our streets, in front of our children ('Daddy, why is that lady wearing a sheet?' 'because it's wrong for women to be seen, son') it wangs chum.
