Woke up this morning to find a nice pool of 2 stroke under my bike. Its been dripping a little for months now (since the last service pretty much) and i'd gotten used to it.
Rang the garage and the head chap without even seeing the bike says that its more than likely the oil container in the bike as they have issues with cracking really easily...... does this sound like a legit reason, has anyone else had this problem???

I have a feeling it is coming from higher up as when i checked the bike a while ago, the leak seemed to be coming from high up on the bike but i couldnt pinpoint exactly where.

Cheers
Pete

I had a similar problem, it was caused by a dodgy 2stroke line. It could be caused by the tank itself, best thing to do is just take the panels off and have a look.

I had a line problem before, it didnt throw out that much oil.
As for looking at the actual problem area, well , i have but its not been of much use to me seeing as the oil can is mostly covered by the frame, i'd have to take it out to have a better look... but i imagine this could be the only problem, either way, i'll probably take it out this evening, maybe patch it until the garage can get me a new one.

thanks

Oil strainer was loose, it put pressure on the seal between the oil can and the oil line and it got a little tear in it that got bigger and bigger as time went by i suppose.

Decided i would take the whole thing apart rather than just rely on someone in a garage telling me stuff over the phone (never getting my business again),,, 15 euro's for a new strainer and seal from the local honda dealer.... a whole lot cheaper than the 100+ i would been charged for a new can and them putting it in.
