So assuming the speed limit there is 60mph (it's been a long time since I've been on that road), this quote would lead me to believe that vehicles are travelling an average of 64mph.

Well, call the Police, stop that traffic...a whole sodding 4mph, and the council (or whoever) are planning on spending shitloads of money on replacing a sign that seemingly makes only a negligible effect on speed. Rolling Eyes

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Hi all, I'm not a biker (but I am a keen driver and regular on PistonHeads).

I'm a local to this stretch of the A4074 too.

Please be careful on this bit of road - it is not called the '13 bends of death' for nothing. In fact, the Times have named this as the most dangerous stretch of road in the country (it's not normally quoted in government stats as it isn't a trunk road!!).

This isn't the type of road that sees one fatal accident every few years - it's more like every few months, including some real horrors this year. Someone due to be married died a few days before the wedding after smashing in to the front of a bus and frying in the ensuing fireball, caused by idiots overtaking (caught and charged by the police).

Having said all that, as an S2000 driver, I can vouch that it's a great piece of tarmac once you know it and if it's empty. However it's the other idiots who always ruin it Sad

Oh, and the rumours are that we'll soon have SPECS on the road...

So, SPECS poles are just as easy to cut through as any other metal pole. And at ten's of thousands of pounds the council might not be in such a hurry to replace them either when they do go Wink
